their first child, a
baby girl. Asin,
delivered the
baby today.
The couple, who
tied the knot last
January, managed
to keep the
pregnancy hush-
hush. They,
however, issued a
statement today
about the special
addition in their
lives. "We are ecstatic to announce the
arrival of our angelic Baby Girl earlier today.
The last 9 months have been most special
and exciting for the both of us and We
would like to thank all our well wishers and
everyone who has been part of our journey
for all their love and support, the
statement read.
Asin and Rahul, who is the founder of
Micromax, got married in a Christian
wedding ceremony on January 19 in Delhi.
In the evening, following the Christian
wedding, the couple had a second
ceremony as per Hindu rituals at the same
venue. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar played
a cupid for the pair. The actor, who is close
friends with both Asin and Rahul,
introduced them to each other. He was also
the only colleague of Asin from the Hindi
film industry, who graced her wedding.
Post her marriage, Asin quit her flourishing
acting career. The 31-year-old actor was
last seen in 2015 comedy, All Is Well, co-
starring Abhishek Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor
and Supriya Pathak.
