FAMILY TIME FOR FARAH
Director, choreographer, and now actor Farah Khan has established her place well in Bollywood as well as TV, and is now off on a well-deserved holiday to Maldives with her family. "I've been working non-stop for the past two years and have hardly been able to give the time I would have liked to, to my family. First I was busy with Happy New Year, then Bigg Boss and now Farah Ki Daawat," says Farah, who was in Lucknow on Wednesday.
NO-SHOW FOR SRK
Fans of Farah's buddy Shah Rukh Khan had been eagerly waiting for the actor to make an appearance on her cookery show, but now apparently, the actor's backed out. Question Farah about the reason and she says, "It's a channel issue. Since he is hosting a show on a rival channel, yeh channel wale hi object karne lage. Otherwise, both Shah Rukh and I were looking forward to him coming on my show."
IN MY OWN STYLE
Farah took over from Salman Khan to host Bigg Boss this year, which she says was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. "In fact, I didn't find it difficult to get into Salman's shoes initially. It was only later I realised what I have taken on. Everybody else was like "Arre yeh toh Salman ki place le rahi hai. Yeh kya karegi?" But I think I held my own. I had my own style and I did exactly what I used to do and say when I would be watching the show lying on the bed as an audience. Salman himself was very happy about how I was on the show, and also tweeted about it and he told me I was doing a good job. The fact is that I never intended to be like him on the show. Nobody can be like him," says she.
HOW FUNNY!
Putting behind her brash days when she was known to be too opinionated, Farah says she has mellowed down a lot. "Especially since my kids were born. They would be thinking I am Mother Teresa because I rarely raise my voice at them," she says with a laugh, and adds, "Pehle I really used to shoot my mouth off, but now I have stopped giving my opinion on other people. And this is largely because of my children." But her husband Shirish Kunder has gotten into a fair amount of controversy over the years for his infamous tweets. Does she have to face a backlash for that? "But I think Shirish is one of the funniest people on Twitter. I find his tweets incredibly funny and thought- provoking. Some of his tweets are so intelligent that even I am shocked ki yeh usi ne likha hai? I don't think in the last four years he's written anything derogatory or personal about anyone. His tweets are not personal about anyone except the BJP. And abhi tak toh BJP waalon ne hum dono se complain nahi kiya hai," she avers.
