I just love her voice. I am surprised why she hasn't been any songs lately.

In 1994, she had five(all) nominations for Best singer. However, she had to share it with Ila Arun for Choli Ke Peeche.

I also love her duets with Udit Narayan.

Udit and Alka are my all time favorite singers.

Alka ji is the more experienced one here. I love loved her songs so much from the beginning. I don't think these two can be compared. Both of them have beautiful voices. Now Alka ji's time has gone, but during her peak she was the BEST!

I prefer Shreya. She's awesome and has a really good higher range plus her voice is quite soothing to the ears

I love Kavita more than Alka though. So it's Kavita > Alka > Shreya for me. 😳

Its Shreya over Alka for me...otherwise my favorite for my generation is Kavita krishnamurthy.

Anyone over Shreya..Shreya's shirking literally gives me a headache at times ..She really needs to take a break 😆

you cant say dat alka is 1 dimentional because she have sang songs like from romantic genre to sad genre ghazal like shab ke jaagay huwe taroon ko bhi neend anay lagi and she also have did item song in nadeem sharavan composition for ashwariya rai dat was Daaiya Daiyaa Daiyaa Re and semi classical like Mere humsafar mere humsafar mere pass aa mere pass aa from Refugee :) i always prefer her for duet songs she match so great with Sonu Nigam , Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu :) still listening Alka Sonu Song "Mujhe pyar hone laga hai" from Janasheen its too awesome melody song
