But let's be honest here, Jaggu dada and SRK came up the hard way. Tiger is having a dream launch as much as possible, even KJO supposedly postponed the release date of his film so the weekend could be free for Tiger. It does not get better than this.

Why is it all industry people suddenly look up to SRK ? Call me cynical, Credibility because he came from outside and built a megastardom when a raft of industry kids failed ? The drum beat about lack of outsiders has reached them and thus they point to the last great outsider that managed to breach the ivory tower as a role model ?

I would say the same thing to Tiger and even Aryan if he made his debut. What Jaggu dada and SRK did was unique, but being your father's son does not make you an outsider. You are a starkid, but neither success or talent is genetic. The bigger the launch, the more you have to prove. The whole thing about from whom much is given, much is asked.

@ bold: couldn't agree more. Having SRK and other successful outsiders like Deepika, Priyanka, etc. (don't know much about Jackie Shroff) as a role model is all good but trying to achieve what they achieved or are still achieving is like asking for the stars. Their success is unique, all sort of things have to happen or like they say all the stars have to align or something to that effect to replicate such success.

Success in any field is as much hard work as luck. You could be doing your best, breaking all the norms, copying what other successful people did before you and you might not be successful. On the other hand, someone else could be doing all the wrong things and end up being the successful one. So one really has to do their best at what they can control and if something doesn't work out then may be that field or work is not for you. Try something else

@Red

Jaggu dada is a real, true success story from what I have read. He was born in the slums and was a gangster type for a while before his good looks made him a model. He did not have immediate success, but Hero (the movie from which the whistle tune is taken) catapulted him to fame.
