The actor is cherry picking scripts and Maneesh has got lucky
Shah Rukh Khan is once again the hottest ticket in town after the success of Chennai Express and the question on every one's mind is, what next?
The actor, who has just wrapped up the Dubai schedule of his much delayed Farah Khan collaboration Happy New Year, has been inundated with scripts. But Mirror has it that the script which has piqued Shah Rukh's interest belongs to Maneesh Sharma who last directed Shuddh Desi Romance.
Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan go back a long way. The director first met the star as an assistant director on the sets of a 2008 film which marked Anushka Sharma's debut.
And now Sharma who has said in previous interviews that he came to Mumbai with the dream of making a film with Shah Rukh Khan, has met the actor with a bound script and if all goes well, the duo will be working together in a project soon.
A source told Mirror, "Shah Rukh devotes 7-8 days to hear a bound script and he spends a lot of time on the material and interacts with the director at length. Sharma too got ample of time with the actor while narrating the script. It has turned out well and the actor is interested." Shah Rukh is also thinking of producing the film, added the source.
"Shah Rukh hasn't taken a final call yet. He is doing Rahul Dholakia's film for sure which is produced by Farhan Akhtar's company. Sharma's film will be produced by Red Chillies Entertainment if all goes as planned. He will slowly take calls on other offers by Anurag Kashyap, R Balki whose script he has already heard," added the source.
