Chennai Express Tuesday Collection Early Trends.
Chennai Express started Tuesday (Fifth Day) on slow note with registering 15-20% occupancy in Morning shows. Then film remained in that zone and slowly picking up from afternoon shows. As from latest news update film is registering an occupancy of around 33% for Tuesday afternoon and evening shows. Today is working day and second day in the weekdays. Hence, today collections are going to be lower than Monday. Plus, because of 15th August National Holiday, CE should collect well from tomorrow (Wednesday) evening also, as family audiences will come out in numbers.
Now coming to point, Chennai Express has registered a decent occupancy of around 35-40% in Mumbai and Gurgaon City in today afternoon and evening shows from samples received. Occupancy is still slow in Delhi city with around 20-25%. Drop is pretty normal when one considers CE humongous weekend business and huge screen release size.
Multiplexes on Tuesday has again registered a significant drop. Drop in single screen is less and sustaining well from the samples received. Overall collection for the day should again be huge considering the enormous screen size CE has got and even with moderate occupancy numbers will come higher.
Coming to Tuesday box office collections. It is too early to make any statement as major single screen report is still to be received. If we go by early trends then CE should collect in the vicinity of around 10 crore nett, which is pretty big considering already film has collected 112+ crore nett till Monday. Thus, by the end of Tuesday, Chennai Express will become biggest Shah Rukh Khan grosser ever in India. Above is just an estimate and final figure may vary.
