There are too many of them and quite huge ones, which causes a total contrast to the image she has right now that's been build up for her career. That's why many of the audience may feel shock and betrayal if they get to know this. If you're gonna lie, you gotta make it believable. Not something like "pigs can fly". 😆 I believe the half-Indian thing was made up so that the audience accepts her quickly as they'd feel a connection, which as we can see did happen.

I am sure Salman is well aware of her past and he's done a good job hiding it. I must say she has amazing luck ! It's not a matter of joke to hide a dark past and make it this big in a foreign country with no talent whatsoever!
