Sanjay Dutt Gets Nostalgic About Madhuri Dixit
20 years after working together in Khalnayak, Sanjay Dutt is getting nostalgic about Madhuri Dixit all over again. So much so that he is even making his affection for her publicly by announcing it in his next releaseZila Ghaziabad.
"There is a scene in the film where he talks about Madhuri Dixit quite fondly. The character of a senior cop played by him tells his subordinate that he remembers Madhuri Dixit till date. This isn't all as he says that despite his feelings for her, she never comes to meet him", says an observer.
Though all of this is done in good spirit and light humour, the makers were apprehensive if Dutt would actually agree to do the scene.
"Director Anand Kumar and writer Vinay Sharma were not too sure if Dutt would agree. They were actually worried if Dutt would lose his temper and fire them for this reference. However to their pleasant surprise, he was quite cool about the scene and couldn't stop laughing", says a source.
Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit
It was a similar reaction when there was a dig that he took on his own character of Ballu from Khalnayak.
"In the film, when some roadside Romeos are brought to his attention, Dutt fires them away for keeping long hair and looking like 'that Sanjay Dutt' from Khalnayak. He tells everyone that in his jurisdiction he couldn't allow anyone to don such persona and even if Sanjay Dutt himself would have walked up to him, he would have trimmed his hair", the observer adds.
Confirms Anand, "Dutt saab was surprisingly chilled out about both the references, whether it was towards him or Madhuri. He was super excited about doing both the scenes and wrapped them in one take each."
One wonders how is Madhuri reacting to the scene, what with Dekha Hai Pehli Baar from Saajan (which again paired her with Sanjay Dutt) playing in the background as the scene is played.
