Abhishek's hat-trick with Apoorva Lakhia
The actor signs his third film with the director

Most directors are known to have their favourites when it comes to working with actors. Case in point is Sanjay Gupta who cannot work without Sanjay Dutt. Similarly, Apoorva Lakhia's fondness for working with the Bachchan family is common knowledge. After Mumbai Se Ayaa Mera Dost and Ek Ajnabee, Lakhia has once again signed Abhishek Bachchan for an important character in his forthcoming Shootout At Lokhandwala. Abhishek will play a real life inspired Superintendent of Police in the film.
"The film is a big with ensemble cast. The film has 82 characters and we already have Sanjay Dutt, Tusshar Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, Arjun Rampal, Esha Deol and Urmila," he says. "I wanted Abhishek to play the character of the cop, a role he agreed to. That makes me very happy."
Lakhia has also expressed his desire to work with Amitabh Bachchan in the film. "I have spoken to Mr. Bachchan and showed him the promos I made for the film. He liked them but is currently shooting in Kerala for Ramu's film. I will be able to confirm the news only after he signs the film," says Lakhia.
Commenting on the special relationship he shares with Abhishek, Lakhia says, "Abhishek and I became very good friends during the making of Mumbai Se Aayaa Mera Dost. He went on to play a cameo in Ek Ajnabee. We share a great comfort level. Although our first film together did not do well, I always knew that Abhishek will be a huge star. He is a not a controversial actor and completely hassle-free."
Incidentally, the film will see Abhishek Bachchan and Vivek Oberoi working together for the first time.
