Agree with Shreya. I'm quite surprised KJO and YRF are jumping on the Emraan train so soon, I thought for sure it would take a good few years of solid work like OUATIM, Raaz 3 and TDP before they would dare to take him on. But perhaps the reason is there is such a dearth of good, young talent around. After the Khans, Devgan and maybe Akshay Kumar (and even that is questionable these days) who else has a draw with the audience? Ranbir Kapoor. That's it. The Khans are ageing and even Yash Raj can't keep pairing SRK with Anushka and Deepika etc. forever. Emraan, for all his 'questionable' past movies and his so-called erotic image, actually does connect with the audience, Murder 2 was an across the board smash-hit. And he's actually talented. So why not give him a go?
Vidya, on the other hand is veering away from commercial cinema. At least she should if she wants quality work. The absolute truth is that Bollywood, like all cinema industry, is male dominated and the men will always rule the roost. Occasionally you'll get a female-oriented blockbuster but then it always reverts to type. Vidya will get terrific roles in quality movies but it won't be with the pot-boiler commercial movies. But I think she's past the point of caring about that anymore.

If you look at his contemporaries ie actors in age group of 30-40 most of them are epic failures. Actually all their careers have gone in the reverse gear. They started well and ended up as duds. Maybe because they never had to climb up the ladder thanks to their parents connections and 'closeness' to powerful men in the industry. Jr Bachchan, JA used to get plenty of YRF and Dharma flicks but they are incapble of carrying a solo film today. Shahid is also doing poorly. The rest of them have all disappeared or doing B grade movies. For a 30+ character choice is between Hrithik and Emraan now. Hrithik is expensive so they are all moving towards Emraan.
But the thing is all of Emraan's films hits have been sold on skin show rather than Emraan star power. So will YRF and Dharma go the Bhatts way now?
About Vidya she has answered the question I asked herself:
