Well, I hate the fact that he's only known for his kissing, his intimate scenes and the fact that his films ALWAYS have top charting music. But...YES! Emmy can act!
For those that say no...how many of you have actually seen Footpath, Zeher, Awarapan, Jannat, Gangster, Murder, Raaz 2 , Murder 2, OUTIM...yes he did get rave reviews for these films. And he was nominated for Jannat and OUTIM and Raaz 2...but nominations in BW doesn't mean a thing. Even actors who haven't acted but had commercial success had been nominated so that criteria really holds no merit any longer. But a lot of ppl's POV on his acting changed post-Awarapan b/c it was just a dark and twisted character...and his transformation from a flawed, wrecked man trying to find peace and salvation in the end was spot on. I guess Awarapan was different from the normal, mainstream films so he does experiment with his roles. He's played the womanizer, cheating hubby, sex-driven Casanova multiple times. But he's also played an antagonist in films with good and bad traits, he's played a flawed characters like a gambler, an egoist hubby, a creepy painter, a jealous cop, etc. He done comedies, rom coms, dramas, action flicks, horror...the only genre that's missing is animation and westerns...so to say he's not versatile just blows my mind.
But ppl already have their opinions about him made up and no matter how many successful films he does, no matter how much critical acclaim he achieves...he's never gonna be A-list. But for me, he surpasses the likes of MANY A-listers.
As for the kissing comment...I think ppl should stop with the label, b/c now even A-listers are kissing...they jumped onto that bandwagon...so that wouldn't be his only "trait"!
