The only reason Slumdog became popular was word-of-mouth, especially here in the US

ARR doesn't lash at other composers so why is he suddenly being attacked nowadays?😕

Exactly, SDM was supposed to be a DVD release back in october 2008, nobody even had any idea or cared to know what it was about. And then after it won over everyone in various film festivals, it got into theatres and became a super success. So it deserved all its success because word of mouth helped it, not stupid media frenzy, over the top celeb scandals and PR machinery. For me, SDM's success was well earned just like the fairy tale ending at the end of the movie. Funny how the real life of the actors turned out quite like the movie itself. And please? Danny Boyle is a good filmmaker but he does not have the same clout as say Chris Nolan or Speilberg so what is Lahiri smoking?. I find Boyle to be the equivalent of Darren Arnofsky....good filmmakers whose movies work solely based on content and not because of PR overdrive like the other overhyped big shot directors.

ek aur namoona🤢
I am glad Danny Boyle choose ARR over any of the other music directors. The man is so humble he has hardly used this to promote himself. Imagine if he actually did people like these would have killed themselves.

What's with everyone attacking AR Rehman suddenly? and that too by forgotten music-related people..
I know Bappi more for his bling bling than any of his music..😆

I hate how some accuse Rahman of not being patriotic enough because he chooses to work for other nations. Why should he loose out on opportunities?

Bappi, go back to singing Sona nahin chandi nahin...blah blah.

And Danny Boyle was the director of SDM, not producer. Warner Bros had heavily doubted the success of the film, hence suggested that it should go straight to DVD, without a U.S. theatrical release. Do your research before you speak.

Bappi boasting how when Michael Jackson came to India that he heard of Disco Dancer.. so what?, Rahman met the man himself, and Michael had even asked him to compose a unity anthem for him.
