Sonam Kapoor turns down Mani Ratnam's film?

A source familiar with the matter revealed that Mani Ratnam approached Sonam for the film because he thought Sonam fits the character perfectly.
"Mani Ratnam's next film will be directed by his long time associate Shiva. Mani and Shiva felt Sonam was the apt choice and Mani even had a meeting with Sonam about the same. After a couple of more meetings, Sonam politely declined the offer, stating date problems as and issue," added the source.
The film is titled "Paki" and is, reportedly, scripted by the talented filmmaker himself. It features Vivek Oberoi in the lead, but other cast members are yet to be finalized.
Reportedly, Ranbir Kapoor was also approached to play a role in the film, but just like Sonam he, too, declined.[/quote]
