The Jain brothers of Venus are going all out to make GARAM MASALA a hot proposition amongst viewers. Although the film is already complete, the makers have decided to add a song to the film, which, incidentally, is being filmed on an expensive set at Mumbai's Filmalaya Studio as you read this news-piece.
"We were vacillating whether or not to add the song. But we decided to go ahead with it subsequently," producer Ratan Jain informs me.
The song, 'Kiss Me Baby', is rendered by Adnan Sami, choreographed by Ganesh Acharya and filmed on the two lead men, Akshay Kumar and John Abraham, along with a bevy of beauties. In fact, Akshay specially flew from U.S.A. [he's shooting for JAANEMAN] to participate for the song picturization.
What's so special about this song? "It's one of the high points of the film. It has the potential to be a chartbuster," Jain smiles. Contrary to what's being whispered, this isn't the song that'll be used for the rolling titles, like it has been witnessed in some recent films. "The titles will roll over 'Adaa' [a popular track from the film]," Jain clarifies.
That's not all! Raindrop Media, the media director of GARAM MASALA, has devised a novel strategy to publicize the film. Together with NDTV, they ran a contest wherein girls from all over the country had to think of ways to date the two hunks. Seven names each [for the two actors] have been short-listed and the finals will take place on October 11 [today] at a popular venue in Juhu, Mumbai.
The lucky winners -- two girls will be chosen out of the fourteen short-listed -- will be introduced to the world in a one-hour episode called 'Akshay, John Aur Kaun?', to be telecast on NDTV. Also, the winners will get a chance to attend the premiere of this laughathon.
