After a couple of films outside the Bhatt camp (Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Chocolate), actor Emran Hashmi returns to his uncles. Emran has been roped in for an extended special appearance in Bhatt's upcoming film Kalyug (earlier titled Blue Film). The film directed by Mohit Suri (Zeher) stars Deepal Shaw and Kunal Khemu (who worked as a child artist in films like Hum Hai Rahi Pyaar Ke, Raja Hindustaani and Zakhm) in lead roles.
For the movie, Emran sports a new look. He has pierced his eyebrows for the role and even colored his hair red. That is to gel with his character of Alibhai, the owner of a sex-shop in Amsterdam. Kalyug revolves around the working of the po*nography industry. Deepal plays the female protagonist who is the victim of human trafficking. Kunal plays a Kashmiri who gets videotaped at a hotel on his honeymoon. The movie also marks the comeback of actress Amrita Singh and in a negative role.
