Gulabi Gang leader & birthday girl Sampat Palslams Madhuri Dixit for making a film on her group without seeking her permission
Following an eventful stay in the Bigg Boss house, Gulabi Gang leader Sampat Pal got evicted from the show on Friday. Excerpts from an interview:
How does it feel to be out of Bigg Boss house?
It feels good to know that I am going home, that too during Diwali, which incidentally is my birthday. But it was good to be in the house. I enjoyed every moment of it.
Your Gulabi Gang has actually inspired a movie called Gulab Gang, with Madhuri Dixit in the lead role...
We don't want publicity. I am not happy about it because if she is doing a film on my gang, she should at least have taken permission from me. She hasn't even bothered to meet me once. What does she (Madhuri) know about the pain women go through in real life? She can't become Sampat Pal by just wearing a pink sari. If she uses our trademark pink sari or sticks in the movie we will stall the release of the film. But, if she comes to me and asks me politely, I shall give permission.
Gulabi Gang also has a chapter in Paris...
Na doosra Gulabi Gang tha, na banega. Those people don't have my permission any more and are now making money using my name. I don't want their support.
Sapna Bhavnani also claims to be a women's rights activist. But you two were seldom on the same page...
Natakbaaz hai wo... bakwaas hai. Only those can understand the pain of women who have faced real problems. Mahilaon ko gaali dena, Urvashi ko moti bhains kehna, ye kaisi women activisthai? Baal katwa ke wo sanyasi nahi ban sakti.
Aren't you affected by the fact that you have criminal cases pending against you?
Mujhe fark nahi padta. My integrity and courage have always seen me through. I have been to jail twice, and I don't know how many more times I would have to go. Either I can secure my happiness or work for the society. I choose the latter.
What was your motive behind joining Bigg Boss?
I didn't know about this show until I was approached. At first I refused because I had to go to Brazil at that time. Then all my gang members suggested I should go, but some people tried to scare me saying it's not a good place. That's when I decided I should go and get a first-hand experience.
The other contestants don't seem to like you very much. Vishal Karwal said you were like a piece of furniture inside the house while Sayantani said you had hygiene issues...
Who are they to speak about me behind my back? He should come to Bundelkhand to see what I really am. As for the girl, she only cleansed her face, while I cleaned the entire garden area.
But we didn't see you furthering your cause inside the house...
Kise leaderi dikhaun main wahan? 24 ghante danda uthaye rakhun kya? It was just a game for me, mujhse dikhawa ya natak nahi hota.
Who among the contestants you like and don't like?
I didn't like anybody, nor did I hate anyone. They all called me mataji and I treated them like my sons and daughters.
How was it to be in the swimming pool for the first time?
I just went there to bathe, but everyone made a spectacle out of it.
You fainted after your team lost out in one of the tasks...
Yes, Bigg Boss contested an election in the house and I found the results a bit unfair. I was so angry that I fainted. Maybe I took the task very seriously.
What are your future plans?
I will do what I used to. I didn't go there to search for work. Na jane kitni dukhiyari mahilayen meri raah dekh rahi hongi. Given a ticket, I will also fight elections.
