So it was the channel's decision to hide it and I guess from the very conception of the theme they were all along planning to make a commoner in general and Manveer specifically the winner, but at the same time needed celebs for the viewership and rake in the moolah through votes for them.

In retrospect, it seems dey really went out of their way to keep Manveer's image of the village simpleton intact. In fact there were a few instances that I found questionable regarding Manveer, but was waiting for some more airing of such instances, which never did get aired properly.
