Then on dates like October 28th it only shows Bigg Boss at 10:30 AM and 4 PM. But this might be just an error in the site.
If 10:30 PM is the permanent timing then it is a terrible decision. The viewers of Bigg Boss are greater than that of Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat or Swaragini as well (from what I've read). I hope they eventually plan to change the timing back to 9 PM.
MUMBAI: For the second time in the history of the controversial reality show, Colors is moving its big-ticket property Bigg Boss' to the late primetime slot of 10:30 pm. Set to launch on 11 October, Bigg Boss Double Trouble' in its ninth season will air at 10:30 pm from Monday to Friday. Meanwhile, on weekends it will continue to air in its regular time slot of 9 pm. So what prompted Colors to take this step in the show's ninth season? For a long time now, Colors was trying to find the right mix of shows for its primetime slot on weekdays. While other channels like Star Plus were leading the 9 pm slot with their fiction sagas, Colors too worked on its strategy by experimenting with various shows. Earlier, none of the shows between 9 and 10 pm performed so well that the channel had to think before replacing them. Hence, as per its calendar, every year around September-October, the channel would bring in its big-ticket property Bigg Boss' in the slot, which was sure to grab eyeballs. Due to its format, the show required to have a seven-day airing and hence took up the 9-10 pm slot from Monday to Sunday, which helped the channel grow in terms of ratings. For the record, it was in the second season of the show, when it moved from Sony Entertainment Television to Colors, that the show aired at 10 pm. In the fifth season as well, the show aired at 10:30 pm, as the fiction line-up on the channel was very strong and it played safe. Things took a turn when Colors unveiled one of its biggest shows of 2015 Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat'. The channel dabbled in the historical genre after a long time and went all guns blazing for the show. It was earlier launched as a one-hour show from 9 to 10 pm on weekdays to help establish the story of the king. Within a month, the channel brought in family drama Swaragini' in the 9:30 pm slot on weekdays, thus reducing the duration of Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat' to half an hour. The channel thus built its band by having Chakravartin...' from 9 to 9:30, Swaragini' from 9:30 to 10 and the Balaji Telefilms's love story Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi' from 10 to 10:30 pm. Colors' investments started paying off when all three shows kept emerging among the top five shows in various weeks of the data. At least one or two among the three shows always featured on the list. Since Colors has three of the top-rated shows in the slot, the channel thought that it would not be proper to replace them and play with the time slots again as the shows command loyal viewership. The only empty slot available on the channel was 10:30 pm, where it was airing the repeat of its 6:30 pm show Ishq Ka Rang Safed'. Thus, Bigg Boss Double Trouble' will air from 10:30 to 11:30 pm. The channel's 11 pm show, Code Red', will take a seasonal break. However, it will be interesting to see the ratings as BARC will soon start reporting rural data and rural India sleeps early. But one also cannot ignore the fact that actor Salman Khan, who is returning as the host of the show, also brings a lot of equity to the show. Will Khan once again succeed in bringing in his fans and viewers of the show at 10:30 pm, especially on weekdays? The show will now compete with the likes of Tere Shehar Main' on Star Plus, Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain' on &TV, Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar' on Sony Entertainment Television, repeat of Jamai Raja' on Zee TV, Savdhaan India: India Fights Back' on Life OK and Yam Hai Hum' on SAB TV. It will be interesting to see how the ratings of these shows get affected and with Bigg Boss' being popular among the advertisers and viewers alike, if it will be able to stand out and lure its viewers to the late primetime slot.
