When I was in the states I just used to go to a nearby Mithaai shop and pay them 5 bucks cash no tax for a pound of mix sweets. The Indian in me did it just for the kicks

when i lived in NYC, i used to get a taxi to queens with my bf (at the time) to buy desi food etc and we used to get everyone stare at us, he used to be like "is it because i am white?"

I wish there was a sweet shop near me. I'd be a regular customer. 😆

Haha been there and done that. Part of the reason I stay far from desi congested areas. I love the food but I cant stand some people. My future road map is to live alone in a cabin in Alaska in the wilderness. (im serious) Looking forward to living off the grid
