None of us really know the reason behind his walking out. It is not even clear to Sandy.

It all comes down to reality vs possibility. The 5 lakhs was a reality (it was right in front of him - the option) whereas him staying in there for 10 more days was a possibility (How can he/we say for sure he would've stayed there till finale? He could've been eliminated in Tharshan's place or even midweek this past week). So he took the option right in front of him.

The chance of winning - it was 1/6 (at that point). Even if we consider till yesterday, it was 1/4. If he didn't win, he would've been left with nothing but just his salary for last 105 days.. This (walking out with 5 lakhs) was a safer option.

I am not trying to persuade you to change your opinion/view. I am just stating that there is a different side to this..
