Apart from the Kandukondein rumour, I’ve heard about the other 3 incidents before. During Kalloori Vaasal shooting Prashanth had preferential treatment and apparently Ajith complained about it to film makers. The friction between them continued even until that Prashanth/Shalini movie and Ajith didn’t like Shalini acting with Prashanth. Prashanth had a lot of hype during his initial phase, and got to act with many renowned directors thanks to his fathers good name. But thalakkanam yaaraiyum vidaathu. No one who behaved like a diva on set has ever gone on to have a long lasting career in tamil cinema.

The Meena incident I’ve heard of. Her mother is a known alcoholic and really controlled her daughters career. Her life has in fact become better since her mother has been off the radar. After this incident only Ajith decided not to go for any stage shows and later that extended to audio launches and interviews too. There was a huge controversy when he refused to take part in the first ever Malaysia star night for Nadigar Sangam but he was adamant on his stance.

During the Bala incident his career was very down. None of his movies were doing well at all. I think Bala didn’t want to shoot with him because of that. Godfather/Varalaaru movie was done with a lot of struggles, and that gave him a lifeline again.

But I really won’t call all these incidents as some major hurdles he had to get over in life. Ajith had a lot of support from Nic arts production studio very early in his career and they produced most of his movies even when they weren’t running well. Later in his career he ended up dumping them also. Heera also helped him out when they were together. His movies really were not performing well except Kaadhal Kottai. Only after Kandukondein he started being noticed as a star.

You know STR wanted to change the heroine for Ko when he was first cast. KV Anand had enough of him and replaced him with Jeeva. I don’t like Karthika either, but it’s up to the director to choose whom they think is suitable for the role.

But this is done by a lot of heroes. Heroes have the most power in Indian movies.

winner was flop ?????!. I can watch that movie over and over again and never get tired of it . Next to Jean's I would says it's one of prashanth movie I like best. The comedy scene with vadivelu is too daam good

Arun Vijay didn't go anywhere from d industry ...he still acted atleast a movie in a year ...other heroes would ve disppeared in those 2 deacdes......Varalakshmi Villi roles nalum still getting movies ...innum 5 kum mela movies iruku wat ever d role maybe ....I compared her with other heroines of Bala movies ....and Prasanth recent movies Appa dhan produce panranga ...

unpopular opinion -i dont like bala movies ,for me his movie kind of mess ,reality ingra perula over violence and bad words va irukkum, not comparison but cheran movie ellame reality touch nnu solli emotion athigave irukkum but there is some social msg too (still i feel cheran should try movie with more comedy and emotion like vetri kodi kattu type ) however he minimize violence so far no villan in his movies except pandaver poomi or vulgar dialogue ikkum perisa irukathu but bala movies always focused towards awards only ore mathiriy hero va etho psyco mathiri portray panni iruparu

movie not flop pa but producer sold the movie to distributor (i think sun network buy it for less amount actually he borrowed a lot ) so only distributor gain so much not that producer

now he doing some supporting role in movies

Vadivelu comedy would have made up for some of it I guess ?, because that's the only thing that's watchable in that movie
