No worries. I don't like her as well.

This is wrong. We can respect each other's opinions. There was no need to personally attack her. She has all the rights to like or dislike anyone. What if she had tried to like Priyanka but couldn't connect with her, just like you may not be connecting with other contestants!!

I agree. That girl gets on my nerves. Especially after her horrible tweets regarding an infamous case last year.

See, maybe you couldn't put your point across but when you say "You didn't even try to like Priyanka" or "your posts are extremely negative on her "that's personal. How do you know she didn't try? That's what I meant.

Moreover everyone is entitled to like/dislike whoever they want to for whatever reasons.

---------------------------------------------------

You NEVER tried, evey single one of your posts has be extremely negative towards priyanka, I actually thought you must have related to nimrit at one stage.

Its fine to like your idol and support them.

--------------------------------

If it's fine to like and support a certain player, shouldn't it be equally okay to dislike and not support another one? I mean, realistically speaking, who gets to decide if one has tried hard enough or not? Is there a way to quantify it or something?

I get that you're a fan of a certain contestant and posts that don't necessarily align with your sentiments may seem hurtful to you but the best thing to do in such cases is to either ignore them or put forth your points without negating someone else's opinion.

You don't have to respect her opinion but please respect her right to have one.

----------------------------------------

Where did I not respect her opnion or a right to have one ?

My post openly supports her having an opinon, and supports her in her support of Nimkit. I actually enjoy reading her posts....

So by me disagreeing with her statement, does not mean I dont support her right in having a diffrent one than me.

I really do not understand how you came to this assumption ?

I never said or implied that your disagreement with her comment translates to you somehow denouncing her right to a different opinion than yours.

I very well get that disagreement and disrespect are different. If you disagree with an idea, it does not always mean that you are being disrespectful. You can disagree with someone without showing disrespect, that is you can disagree with an idea politely.

My belief is that if you truly respect someone's right to an opinion, you don't respond with disrespect when realising it differs from yours. (This is what I believe, maybe your take on it is different and that's fine)

To me, disrespect includes the act of being rude. You show disrespect when you say something unkind. At least this is part of my definition of the term. (I'm sure it may vary from person to person.)

Thereby due reasons mentioned above :

Do I think you were polite? No.

Do I think you were rude when you claimed that the person involved NEVER tried to like a certain contestant? Yes.

Therfore, do I think you disrespected her right to an opinion? Also Yes.

Again, let me be very clear. I don't care about the Nimrit V Priyanka angle of the post, that doesn't matter to me. What made me reply to your initial post was the use of judgement on your end when you decided to proclaim someone had or hadn't put in effort to like a particular contestant.

Barring that one comment, nothing about your post seemed impolite to me.

You are free to disagree with me on this after all it is just my opinion. Just because I view things a certain way doesn't mean you have to share the same view. We can agree to disagree on this.
