Chapter 31
The evening saw the families seated together for dinner with the exception of Ajabde who had been called for some work. Kokoiaji thanked Karnawati for allowing Ajabde to stay and taking care of her to which KW said that she considered Ajabde her own and no thanks for was required. Ratan decided to take everyone for a tour of the haveli when an idea crept inside Pratap's brain and a smile on his face
Pratap: Ratan aapki jija kahan rehti hai
Ratan: Arey humne aapko jija ka room nahi dikhaaya. Chalo dikhaate hain
And so everyone was taken to Ajabde's room where Pratap played his next step. Ajabde came home late after everyone had fallen asleep she had been occupied with some work with regards to the mela and the puja. Utterly exhausted she went straight to her room which was on the top floor in the corner- her room had the most magnificient view of the gardens and she had a secret way to the rooftop. Her room walls were double coloured in match of pink-purple colours chosen by her siblings when the room had been redecorated only the ceiling was done according to her- it had the glowing galaxy pasted over it- stars and the planets. The room was quite spacious with a king size bed in the middle with windows on the either side her wardrobe was next to the window on the right side and opposite to it was a temple with Lord Kanha in it and placed nextto him was her first gun out in the open. She removed her jacket throwing it at the sofa seat and then took of her shoes as well. Yawning she plopped down on her bed and closed her eyes suddenly she opened them right back
Ajabde: Yeh bed itna zyaada hard kaise ho gaya? Kal tak toh soft tha (she moved on her bed trying to get as much comfortable and closed her eyes again)
A hand made its way to her waist and she placed hers on top of it- feeling the hairy hand ahd Ajabde in alert so she stealthily moved her leg trying to feel what was on her bed when it found something- she moved her leg up and down (like when one plays footsie) making the hand on her waist tighten its hold. Ajabde now very much awake used her hand to move the hand on her waist and then in a quick move was directly on top of the hardness suddenly the hardness moved a bit but she kept herself stable taking out her knife
Ajabde: Agar zinda rehna chaahte ho toh chup chaap apna face dikhao warna yahin par tumhaara gala kaatkar alag kar dene mein mujhe der nahi lagegi
The covers were thrown and her eyes widened
Ajabde: Tum!!!
Pratap looked at her and then at the knife
Pratap: Kya hai dekh rahi ho na main so raha hoon- jaao yahan se sone de mujhe
Ajabde: So raha hoon...arey par yeh mera room hai
Pratap: Toh
Ajabde: Toh tum yahan kaise so sakte ho? Main yahan soti hoon
Pratap: ohhh but ab main so raha hoon so good night
He threw the covers on himself again only to have them removed forcefully
Ajabde: Dekho kahin aur jaakar so jao. Am exhausted and mujhe neend aa rahi hai
Pratap: Arey aaj subah toh bada keh rahi this ki hospitality dikhaungi- yeh hai tumhaari hospitality
Ajabde had no answer when he continued: Ab main tumhaara guest hoon na toh itna toh kar sakti ho apne guest ke liye
Ajabde: Main kahan jaaon ab?
Pratap: Guest room mein (she looks at him) Dekho raat bahut ho gayi hai aur kisi ne tumhe mere saath dekh liya toh kya sochenge mere baare mein (gathers the covers against his upper body) Suno jaate waqt na lights off karna mat bhoolna. Goodnight
Next morning saw a cheery Pratap chatting with Akbar and Khan Baba- they had taken a small detour to visit a dargah nearby and had just arrived in Bijolia
Akbar: Panga kyun le raha hai usse Pratap she's a scary thing
Pratap: Alag hai- unique hai but scary nahi hai. Waise bhi mujhe itna tang kiya tha usne thoda toh payback banta hai
Ratan and Chand were enjoying the traditional breakfast together both of them had developed a camaradiere and now could be seen together. Suddenly Hansa called for Ajabde but got no response
Ratan: Jija nahi hai ghar par
Hansa: Nahihai matlab ghar nahi aayi thi kya
Ratan: Aayi thi but phir chali gayi thi
Pratap and Akbar were now attentive along with the others
Akbar: Chali gayi?
Ratan: Jija apne silent mode mein thi -lagta hai kisine panga le liya unse
HB: Hey bhagwaan uss bechaare ko bacha lena
Akbar: Aap ko uss bechaare ke liye itni chinta kyun ho rahi hai kakiji?
HB: Meri Ajabde agar gussa kare- scream kare toh theek hai par agar silent ho jaaye toh samjho aafat aane waali hai
Akbar looked at Pratap scared for his best friend and then uttered: Yeh dono perfect hain ek dusre ke liye bas mereko kuch na kare
