jps01,indi,Leesan,godblessall,pensink,vedi, please do not think I am imposing topics for discussions. Please feel free to change them anytime. I was just putting down whatever I could think of at the time of posting. In fact none of my posts are very well thought and I love to just talk with you all. Actually, I am kind of over BBAT now (but definitely with fond memories) and I come to this forum just to chat with you guys. Hope I am not offending anyone by saying this as I know you all still miss BBAT with a passion.
indi, jps01, you guys are right. There are so many scenes we see on Zee that seem like copy from BBAT and do not even look half convincing. In fact I also have seen two separate shows where the lead hugs in Guddu Shukla style in the railway station. There are so many things that I think exclusively belonged to BBAT that it looks completely fake when anyone else does it. On the other hand maybe we are all prejudiced. π
Coming to the topic which I suggested, I was thinking of small things that brought back memories. There are two things that come to my mind which seemed so real life like.
In July 6th episode when R enters G's house after the ceremonial rice kicking and goes to fill water in the jug, I loved it when the tap came off. This was such a common occurrence in my grandfather's house with the same kind of plastic tap in the back yard. Also I was laughing more when Guddu put the tap back and tied the cloth around to make it stop splashing. πThat is exactly what we did until my dad would come to visit and fix the tap properly.
In the August 8th episode when G & R come back on the cycle rickshaw from the railway station, I was a bit nostalgic when I saw Guddu getting off the rickshaw and pushing it while the rickshaw driver was pulling the rickshaw. This is a very common practice and I remember my dad doing the same while myself and my baby brother sat with our mom on the rickshaw whenever there was any up incline in the road. I was 5 and we were living in Assam (coincidently the same place Nivedita's husband is from). In those days cycle rickshaw was our main mode of family transport. But coming to BBAT there was something which got to me in the scene and I do not think I saw it mentioned in the forum. When Guddu asked the driver to push and stared to drive the rickshaw, it looked very natural the way he crashed the rickshaw. Maybe driving it not as simple as it looks or maybe HM never practiced much on a tricycle as a kid! π But the funniest thing is the rickshaw driver did not seem amused but genuinely upset and did not look as though he was acting when he was checking the damage. I am more convinced of this because after that we saw a different rickshaw driver and they seem to have lost the original guy on the way. Just a funny observation.
I have to get back now; I just came to pop in for a second and ended up writing more than I should have been. There is more I can write on this but I hope I am not boring you guys to tears with stupid details. π²I just love reading your thoughts however simplistic they are like mine as I have just posted. Love to all and keep posting all you can. Take care!π
