Shilpa Shinde's trade mark dialogue 'Sahi Pakde Hain', as 'Angoori Devi' from &TV's comic caper 'Bhabi Ji Ghar Pe Hain!' has become an instant hit with everyone. From children to adults, 'Angoori' has mesmerized everyone with her innocent childlike persona. Looking ravishing in pink sari with matching accessories, Shilpa is basking in the success of the show.
"I never knew 'Angoori' will become such a hit with the viewers. The compliments which started pouring in after the telecast of first episode where overwhelming," says the gushing actress. Shilpa who was initially approached to play 'Anita', believes that 'Angoori' is completely the director's and the writer's creation. Angoori is just a regular housewife whose world revolves around her husband and family. Instead of that, her naive and bubbly nature makes her appealing to the viewers.
As we ask Shilpa about her trademark catchphrase 'Sahi Pakde Hain!' she informs, "I insisted on having my own takiya kalam (catchphrase). They gave me various options but none interested me. Since Angoori is weak in English, I suggested something which she can use when someone corrects her. The writer told me about 'Sahi Pakde Hain!' Director Shashank decided to give it a try. In the first attempt itself I got it right and since then it's become a trademark with 'Bhabhiji'."
Shilpa who earlier had done shows like 'Mayaka', 'Bhabhi' and 'Chidiyaghar' shares that initially she was skeptical to play the role due to character's personality, look, and mainly language. Ultimately, her urge to satisfy the actress within her, made her accept 'Angoori'. Shilpa admits, "I am a complete tomboy compared to my co-stars, Rohit Gaud and Aasif Sheikh. Earlier I used to be little reserved with them but as we started working together, we became good friends. Aasif is conscious of each and every word his character says as not to offend family audience. I always tease them to relax a bit."
The Maharashtrian actress expresses her desire to work with known Marathi actor Sachin Khedekar in future. Shilpa with her winning smile has hit the right chords by playing 'Angoori'. Finally we must say... 'Sahi Pakde Hain!'
