Durga didn't realize that a truck was coming from the other side and their car and the truck clashed together causing the driver's seat's door to break because of which she fell outside banging her head on a big stone ruining her face falling unconscious. Arjun got shocked and glanced at Maya who was sleeping peacefully. He kept her head on the seat and got out of the car. 'Durga di,' he called her name turning her around, her face was covered in blood, there wasn't a single place from where her face was undamaged. 'Oh my God, Durga di! Di!,' he called out worriedly.

He called ambulance and till then he placed her on the front seat that had door. He kept glancing at Maya making sure she's asleep as she won't be able to bear it. He was pacing here and there near the car and felt a hand on his shoulder and as he turned, the person he saw was enough to boil his blood. 'Kabir!,' he punched him and he collided with the car catching a glimpse of Maya and an evil thought was awakened in him. He opened the door of the car and sat inside taking Maya in his lap.

Arjun glared at him and slapped him hard as he looked at her lustfully. 'Don't do anything to her, and if you do, you'll die by my hands, I swear,' Arjun said. 'Oh, achha, ab tu dekh,' Kabir said and held her hair pulling her face close. 'Dekh mat kar, vo jaag jayegi,' Arjun said. 'Wohi to karna chahta hoon,' he said and started kissing her wildly. 'Kabir chhor usay, chhor day,' he said and Maya woke up and screamed seeing Kabir. 'Arjun please help, look he's trying to rape me again, plz let me down.'

Arjun was trying his best and finally succeeded in freeing her and took her out of the car. She hugged him fearfully shivering badly. 'Relax, this time you're saved, no one can do anything to you, and this time he will be punished, no one can stop him from punishment,' Arjun said as she cried. 'Kabir, I liked you when you came and proposed me, even your shadow is a burden on me now, you go away, go away from me!', she shouted and he got angry, he held her arm and pulled her, she moved away from Arjun.

'What did you say? I m a burden? You think you're a piece of gold? No, you're trash, who is raped multiple times,' Kabir shot back. 'Multiple times? What do you mean?', Arjun asked in a shock standing before her. 'Me and my some escort friends raped her multiple times,' he confessed. Kabir had tied Maya in his room and called his friends to his house and they did their work and went. Kabir came back and did the same to her and she fainted due to excess of pain. He then opened her up and picked her and took her to the kitchen and burnt the remaining piece of clothes on her body and left her there. When she woke up, she ran to her room before anyone saw her like that and got dressed in white clothes. Then she hung herself from the ceiling but fortunately Sanjana saw her as she had run away from the washroom in which Kabir had closed her so that she can't do anything and saved Maya from suiciding, the next day she was closed in the dark store room and was saved from there as well. Arjun boiled in anger as he said that and fisted his palms. 'From the night we married to the last day she was in my house, not a single day was there when she was free of these tortures, one day Sanju saw her gagged and bound to bed, she went and freed her but I stopped her and pulled her out.'

'Why? Why did you do this to her? To an innocent soul? What did you get in return? What?', Arjun asked holding his collars. 'A child, I got a child in return, my dear daughter Arya, Sanju became a mother the day she was born, and I became a father,' Kabir said with an evil smile and got a slap in return. 'What do you think of yourself? You're nothing, kuchh bhi nahi hai tu, samajha! Bandar kahin ka, bandar ki yeh insult hai, saalay bandar bhi tujhse achhay hongay,' Arjun replied enraged.

'Think before you speak, for who are you fighting for? This trash? What will you get by saving her? Do the same to her?', Kabir said and Arjun punched him hard and the ambulance arrived. 'Arjun, ambulance,' Maya said and he turned. 'OMG, where's di?,' Maya asked worriedly and her gaze went on the front seat.

'Durga di!', she shouted and fainted, Arjun held her. 'I will see you later, I know you have done this accident,' Arjun said and shifted Durga to the ambulance and got in along with Maya and they drove off. Arjun had tears in his eyes for the innocent soul, how can someone be so cruel? Pity. Pity to the girl who was betrayed by marriage, pity to the one who was raped so many times, pity that she had tried to suicide and got saved, pity that she no more has a peaceful life anymore.

'Maya, I m so sorry that I couldn't come before, so much happened but I wasn't there to save you, I wish I was there to save you, I wish I should've make you run away from this marriage and marry me, now one more shock, I hope Durga di will be able to make it,' Arjun said while cryingly to unconscious Maya. He called Dev and informed him about the accident. The ambulance stopped outside the hospital, it was of his mother's. Durga was brought out on stretcher and Arjun took Maya outside. Both were admitted in the hospital.

A woman came towards her. 'What happened Arjun beta? You here?', she asked. 'Actually Maa, I wanted to shift Maya to another hospital and thought to shift her here, on the way Durga di met with an accident and her face got damaged, seeing her Maya fainted,' he said in a go. 'Are they here?', Vandana (his mother) asked pointing to the OT. 'Yes,' he replied and she went inside. He kept pacing here and there, just then Dev came there running. 'Arjun, where's Durga?', he asked. 'OT, she's being operated, her face has been damaged,' he said. 'But how?', he asked.

'She was driving and a truck came and clashed with our car and the door broke, she fell out and her face collided with a big stone,' he said. 'Oh God, no matter what, I don't want to lose her, I haven't seen her happy in my whole life, I saw her crying and sad all the time, I wish God doesn't takes her away, how's Maya?', Dev asked. 'Not fine, she fainted,' he replied. 'Its high time we should take action, we should get justice for Maya,' Dev said. 'It will happen, but before that we will need proofs.'

'But how?', Dev asked and Vandana came outside with a paper. 'Her face is full with wounds, she will need plastic surgery, please sign these papers,' she said handing them to Dev and he broke down. 'Don't think too much, I know its difficult, but you'll need to sign fast, else operation won't be successful,' Vandana tried explaining him. 'Yes, she's right,' Arjun said and Dev signed the papers. 'I will call Shanaya so that she can take care of Maya till then, and Maya won't even know she's not Durga but Shanaya, Durga's twin who lives with Janvi aunty,' Arjun said.

Dev nodded and Arjun called Shanaya. Vandana went inside the OT. Dev sat on the bench. After a long surgery, Vandana came out. 'Congratulations, operation is successful, you can meet her after we shift her to the ward,' she said and she was brought outside the OT, her whole face was covered with bandages. After two hours, her bandages were removed and she became conscious. 'Thank God you're OK,' he said and cupped her face. 'Who are you?', she asked and he looked at Arjun. 'Don't you remember me? I am your Dev, whom you married, remember?'

'I didn't marry anyone, and where's my chhoti, she might be crying, how did this accident happen? And where's Maya?', she asked. 'She will come,' Arjun said and got a call and excused himself. 'Hallo...yes Shanaya, you have reached the right place, meet me outside OT...then I will tell you where's Maya,' he said and the call got disconnected. He felt a tap on his shoulder and he turned around. There stood a familiar face, she was identical twin of Durga. As their father shifted outside India, he took her as well as he couldn't stay without them and Durga stayed with her mother.

Maya wasn't born at that time. 'Shanaya, thank God you came,' he said and narrated everything to her. 'Now she knows Durga is injured and she doesn't knows you and Durga di were twins, you tie a bandage so she doesn't have doubt, don't tell anything right now, just go there as Durga,' he instructed and gave her bandage, she tied it around her head and he guided her to Maya's room. He went as she went inside. Shanaya saw Maya laying with closed eyes.

Her face was full of tears as she was crying in sleep. She caressed her hair. 'Chhoti, didi agai, tumse milnay, ro mat,' she said in a comforting tone and she opened her eyes. Shanaya smiled and kissed her forehead. She sat up and hugged her. 'Main bohat darr gai thi, Kabir aya tha, usne phir se wohi harkat karnay ki koshish ki, Arjun ne bachaya, thank God you're fine,' she said crying on her shoulder and even Shanaya had tears. 'I won't die so soon, now stop crying,' she said and wiped her tears. 'Take rest,' she said and made her lay again.

As soon as she slept, Shanaya started crying. 'I m sorry chhoti, I m not Durga,' she said and cried. 'I want to go and meet chhoti, call her na,' Durga insisted. 'Please handle her, can't take her there,' Arjun whispered. 'Durga, please, Maya will come, you rest,' Dev said. 'You're no one to say all this,' she argued. 'We will make you meet her but sometime later, right now you rest,' Arjun said. 'Promise na Arjun?', she asked. 'Promise,' he said and time passed by. Maya woke up and Shanaya made her eat. 'Di enough na.'

Maya and Shanaya were having a fight, Maya didn't want to eat more but Shanaya was adamant to make her eat. 'Last, for me,' she said and Maya swallowed somehow. 'Now no more ha, paitu full,' Maya said and she laughed. 'OK no more,' she said and they heard the door click open and turned. Dev, Durga and Arjun entered. Durga was shocked to see Shanaya and they had a hug. 'Di whose she?', Maya asked leaving Durga shocked, she couldn't recognize her due to her changed face. 'Umm, she's my friend, Nitya, hi, meet Maya, my chhoti,' she said.

'Hi,' Durga said and smiled brightly. Maya forwarded her hand for handshake and she shook her hand with hers. She sensed dearness holding her hand. 'Have we met somewhere before?', Maya asked. 'No,' Durga replied painfully. 'Friends?', Maya asked. She hmmed. As Durga turned, her gaze went on the wall mirror and her eyes grew wide in shock. She couldn't believe her eyes, her face had changed so much. She touched her face and got teary eyed and excused herself. Dev went after her. 'Durga, we didn't got a chance to tell you,' Dev said. 'My face, its so changed, that's why she didn't recognize me,' she said crying her heart out. 'Everything will be OK, don't worry,' he assured and she embraced him unknowingly.

Shanaya saw the house was empty and looked here and there in the house, her gaze went on the couch. She saw Sanjana struggling as Kabir had strong grip on her wrists. 'What to do? How to save her? Yes, he might be thinking Durga is dead and I m her twin, so I should go inside while their gaze isn't on me, I will scare him as a ghost,' she spoke to herself and hid behind the curtain. She threw the vase near Kabir and he got startled. She hid again. He looked around but found no one. She again came out and saw the switchboard near curtains.

She switched the lights on and off to distract him. 'Who the hell is it?', he shouted and she again hid but kept on doing it. 'Kabirrr,' she said and he turned around to see who it was but all in vain. Shanaya crawled towards him as he turned towards Sanjana, he was on the floor. She put her hands on his eyes suddenly and he got scared. 'Who's it?', he asked and left Sanjana. She laughed in a ghostly style. 'Durga,' she whispered and he jerked her hands away and she again hid behind the glass table.

He ran upstairs to his room and closed the door of his room and locked it. 'Durga? How's it possible?', he thought and hid under the bedsheet. Shanaya stood up from her hiding and went to Sanjana who was laying on the couch trembling. 'Sanjana, get up and tell what was he doing with you?' she asked making her sit up and calming her. 'He was raping me, but thank God you came, else..,' her voice trailed off. Shanaya held her shoulders and smiled at her. 'Nothing happened right? I came, but you should've fought back,' Shanaya said.

'Only if I was the stronger one, anyways you tell. You met with an accident and your whole face got ruined, then how come you became fine so early?' Sanjana asked with a questioning look on her face. 'That wasn't me but Durga,' Shanaya confessed holding her hand and Sanjana creased her eyebrows in confusion. 'That was Durga di? Please get real, you are Durga di, if it is some dumb joke then please just end it, please,' Sanjana said with a quiver in her voice. 'That was Durga and I am Shanaya her twin sister,' Shanaya said in a go and Sanjana gasped.

Durga woke up and looked at her surroundings. 'Where am I? And this room is so empty? Why?' she said softly holding her head and pushed the duvet off her body and stood up placing her feet on the tile floor. Pain triggered her back and her head throbbed. She moaned softly and leaned to the wall near the bed. It took a little time to adjust to the light and the pain in her back. She took baby steps towards the wooden table and reached her hand towards the jug and grabbed the handle, her hands trembled a little.

She poured the water in the glass and drunk it in one gulp taking a deep breathe. Her gaze went on the guitar on the couch. Unknowingly she walked towards it and sat beside it touching it softly. She caressed it taking it in her arms. A cheery laughter of her and Dev rang in her ears and she felt nostalgic. Although she had a memory loss, she still felt that attachment with her husband. With the sudden nostalgia, she started playing the guitar, she played a familiar tune, the tune she heard continuously in her ears.

Dev came there as he heard the tune.

Dev clapped as she ended the song. She looked up at him, he stood at the entrance with a smile on his face, she kept the guitar aside and stood up immediately. 'No no, you sit, please, don't stand,' he said coming to her, he held her shoulders and made her sit. 'You sing really nice, well done, your name shouldn't be Durga but Sangeeta,' he said and she felt this dialogue very familiar. She felt herself blushing and a smile forming on her face as he said that.

Arjun and Maya reached the seaside and he was the first one to step out of the car. He went towards her side and forwarded his hand towards her and she happily placed her hand in his palm stepping down. She was no more in that ugly hospital gown, now she wore a shoulder off top and jeans. They held hands and walked on the wet sand enjoying as the cold breeze touched them. They stopped when they came at the coast. The waves kept coming and touched their feet while Maya held his hand even tighter than it was before.

Back in her childhood, they went to water park with their parents and Arjun was chasing Maya as usual. She looked back at him while running and fell down in the deep pool going to the depth of the pool. Her hair rose up above her like a wild creature and she kept on forming bubbles in the water due to shortage of breathe. Though it was for some minutes, but she had a fear of drowning since then. 'Maya, let's go to the area where the water comes till our knees,' he suggested. 'But Arjun,' she began to say.

'Trust me, nothing will happen,' he said and she agreed and they stepped forward and kept on going till the water reached their knees. 'I feel as if I m floating,' she said smilingly. 'Hmm, but if you feel like drowning, you can tell me,' he replied smiling back at her. 'Will you save me?' she asked innocently. 'No, I will drown with you,' he said naughtily and started laughing. 'I think you forgot that I m no more on my hospital bed but I m free of that drip, now you see,' she replied angrily and bent down taking water in her hand and splashed at him.

'O teri, ha ha ha! That wasn't funny,' he replied doing the same to her. They started having a water fight. 'Arjun its too much stop it,' she said and entangled both her hands with his hands bending their elbows pushing him with full force while he started moving back out of the water laughingly and now he started pushing her back. She left his hands and started running on the sand with him chasing her and she fell on the sand with him on top of her. They had an eyelock.
