Looks like, the honourable President (I assume, because he is the one vested with such powers to reduce sentence) is pleased to commute the sentence for Maya's 'exemplary' conduct in Jail!
Some examples of such a 'good' behaviour that merited review of her sentencing could be
1. An Attempt to escape from prison
2. For kidnapping her own husband while remaining in Jail & putting his life in danger
3. Setting the Jail ablaze
4. Non-cooperation with Jail authorities like refusing to take food & attempt to commit suicide etc
4. For sending a mercenary to kill her enemy, Saanjh!
So, the case deserves lenient consideration & no surprise at all!
In Beyhadh land, the legal punishment is always inversely proportional to crimes!
Like the case of Ayaan who suffered in Jail for months for an offence that he was blamed wrongly!
And Arjun was handed down death in quick time, for a crime he did not even commit & subsequently no commutation for him! Later on, his case was summarily dismissed,by the police inspector himself, as no judge was availble then to review!!
Only in Maya's case a rare thing happened! She was sentenced to death for a series of murders she committed!
But then, in her post sentencing period her conduct & behaviour are too good to impress the Powers that be!
So,the reduction in sentence now!
Who says wheels of justice move very slowly?
They do move fast & even in the reverse gear if need be!
All you need is right connections that work for you!
