Maya doesn't believe she would have done anything differently. She chose her path and she followed it to the end. When I think about it...there wasn't much of another path she could have rationally chosen anyway. All this sacrifice in love is never anything she saw so probably wouldn't know what it is. She wanted her love with her but it tried to run even before she became evil.

Does that sound like the dialogue of a person in true love? A person who would want her beloved to live happily in his life? Afraid not. 🤔

Not once in her death speech does she appear to even say she might have been wrong in the way she approached things nor asks for forgiveness.

She honestly believed that her method of control was the correct thing.

she underestimated arjun. she thot he cant kill her but he did. she thot he will regret it whole life but he wont.
and yes maya remained maya till the end. she always believed what she was doing is right.

she never underestimated arjun, she knew arjun would kill her, That explains the empty pistol, her revenge was to make him guilty for life, and kill his soul, just like he, and society kill her innocent soul as a kid. Maya herself said, that she will choose her time of death, and she did.
Otherwise, maya who devised murder trap, prison escape isn't that dumb. She knew what she was doing.

There were plenty of other paths open to her- she chose to be stubborn and go on a path of self destruction.

As for sacrifice in love, as a friendless person, there weren't many examples she would've seen, but she did see

1.) Samay immolating himself for Maya

2.) Jhanvi did love Maya, despite the protestations of many here to the contrary. Yes, she had a weakness in Ashwin, but in S1, she's shown to have chosen Maya over Ashwin on many occasions- cleaned that cake in Ashwin's room like a servant, paid Ashwin money to keep him away from Maya, promised not to meet Ashwin when Maya tried to cut herself, and had the intention of killing Ashwin to ensure Maya's marriage went ahead, and putting herself as a barrier between Maya and Ashwin when he came along with his Maya baby dialogues.

Jhanvi stopped supporting Maya when she killed Ashwin, and tried to pin Ashwin's murder on Jhanvi, and then created that shit with hallucination and the tablets to make her look like a mental patient, and then attempted to murder her several times.

3) She even saw Saanjh, who loved Arjun, try to move on, and get honeymoon tickets for A-M

4) She had seen Arjun's love for Ayaan (his jaan, in his own words)

^^^ exactly. She didn't underestimate Arjun. She knew he would shoot her and that's exactly what she wanted. She always said she would die on her own terms, in the place she chose. Well there it is. Knowing there was nothing left to live for, she chose how to leave the Earth.

Come on. None of these examples are at all strong enough to be the guiding light of someone who has been emotionally and psychically abused. Jhanvi's half hearted protection came way too late. Jhanvi should have protected her daughter in her childhood. Remember how she used to berate Maya for not forgiving Ashwin? How she used to promise Maya not to see him again but then again go to him and fall in his words? How she was willing to leave Maya for Ashwin. That's not a mother. That's a selfish lover.

How could Jhanvi give someone a supari to kill her daughter in jail? 🤢 worse still, even today she was saying save the child 🤢 she doesn't deserve to be a mother.

That's the precise point- no one in real love does that kind of thing.

That's more like, I didn't get you, so I'll make you suffer after I'm gone too- if that is selfless love then 🤔

If anything, there's a lot more for Arjun to take revenge from Maya rather than the other way around, and I personally think the murder will haunt him a bit, but not so much that he'll regret it for every day of his life. Remember the cop said Arjun was not Ashwin's killer because he didn't have it in him to kill. The fact that he was ready to kill Maya indicated what she had put him through.

^^^^nah. This wasn't the first time Arjun has tried to kill Maya. He will definitely regret killing an unarmed Maya and the way she died will definitely haunt him. He finally understood the depth of her love when she died. Now he will see her in that child and in his dreams.

Nope, before going, she made sure to tell arjun how her life was always empty. As you said that Maya had the choice, but so had arjun. Why did he shoot her? He chose to shoot her, and then realized his mistake.
Did maya hold arjun's hand, and shoot herself? No. If Arjun didnt shot maya, he would felt guilty, he did what he did

So what arjun got was the fruit of his own actions. Maya paid for the crimes she did with her life, but she also cleared all the debts.

Maya had to die so that arjun realized what he did to her. And he did realized, and was filled with guilt. He too judged maya, like the society, but his ego went, after they came to know that pistol is empty.

As I said, Maya killed arjun's soul just like he did and the society did.

As for Samay, he just lusted on Maya and Jhanvi always chose Ashwin. But despite all this, she told her child that she will never have to suffer the way she did, she turned out to be a better mother.

Yes maybe, arjun guilt will go in some days, but he will be forever a cold blooded murderer, in the eyes of law and will rot in jail. His child will be forever maya's light, the light she gave while dying. The light out of a mentally ill, traumatized, and rejected girl.

I don't understand this when Jahnavi didn't leave Ashwin then she was bad but when Arjun left Maya then he was bad as well. Ashwin wanted money Maya wanted Arjun and both could go to any extent for that (even killing in fact Ashwin didn't kill abyon which Maya did)
So if Arjun did bad by Leaving Maya then Jahnavi was right in still waiting for Ashwin

Or is it that Jahnavi should have left who tortured her daughter but Arjun should have stayed with who tortured his family

And no Arjun always knew about the obsessive love of Maya not that he got to know at the end
