TNN | Updated: Aug 12, 2017, 02:40 PM ISTKuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi to wrap up soon; Beyhadh gets an extension
This news might come as a shock to the fans of popular TV show Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi. The channel on which it is aired has decided to pull the plug on it. The show is all set to end soon, while another hit daily Beyhadh, which was supposed to go off air by the end of this month, has got an extension.

According to reports, the programming team felt there was potential in Beyhadh to carry its story forward with new twists and turns, but they did not see any scope in the plot of Shaheer Sheikh and Erica Fernandes' 'Kuch Rang...'. Hence, the end-minute decision has left everyone surprised.

The changes have been made to make way for Amitabh Bachchan's quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 9.

The extension comes as a breather to the cast and crew of Beyhadh. An elated Kushal Tandon (Arjun) took to his Twitter account and announced the new timing of the show. He wrote: As the show was going off air this month end , on public demand d show is on til Oct.from 28aug instead of 9 show will be on at 10.after kbc

While Ishwari aka Supriya Pilgaonkar left a farewell song on her Instagram account for her fans. Her post indicated how the show's going off air has left her disheartened. And it's not just her, but fans as well who couldn't believe their favourite love story was going to air no more. According to reports, the show will air its last episode on August 25.

Ome of the dumbest decision Sony TV can ever make!! Show is already dragging like hell... It has to end with Maya being punished... But khair, I would definitely watch the last episode directly... Wasted whole month of watching the crap with hope of climax😡

Sometimes we find things very funny when people try to defend something, after letting the cat go out of the bag!

The performance of Beyhadh was commented recently by none other than Ashish Golwalkar, who has earlier been in major positions with Star Plus and Zee TV, recently got into a frank conversation with IndianWikiMedia.com (Read for more:http://www.indianwikimedia.com/television/personalities/ashish-golwalkar-opens-on-the-recent-ups-and-downs-of-sony-tv/2017/07/14)
and went on to talk about the way Sony TV has handled few major decisions in terms of launches and closure in the last few months.

Some key & notable comments made by SVP in that IV on 14th July, 2017, are given below:

.. . Acknowledging the fact that the channel's popular limited series thriller Beyhadh is on its way out, Ashish told us, "This thriller which has seen superb acting by Jennifer, Kushal Tandon and last but not the least Aneri Vajani is now in its last leg as you can see in the screenplay. The show was always designed to last a certain number of episodes which the story demanded, and we have followed the same pattern to the T. We did not tweak the series duration to accommodate ratings pulls and pressures. . . .

Now ,we find TOI & some other media reports singing a different tune!

While Ashish Golwalkar was supposed to have said, 'the thriller is in its last legs' to IndianWikiMedia.com, only a month earlier, now, we are led to believe that the programming team has a contrarian view to SVP & felt 'there was potential in Beyhadh to carry its story forward'!, if one were to go by recent TOI reports as given above!

The question one is left to ponder aloud now is . . .

Are we supposed to understand that the wisdom of so called programming team prevailed over the wisdom of their own SVP, Sr Creative Director Content at Multi Screen Media Pvt. Ltd. (Sony Entertainment) who also supervises fiction properties on the channel, causing the channel to reverse its opinion, just in a few weeks time?!
Not just that,
The SVP was supposed to have thundered then, 'no tweaking of duration to accommodate pulls and pressures!' to his interviewer,& thereby creating an impression that the show was well on its way out !
But now, KT- the male lead actor says, 'it is extended due to public demand!' while admitting the fact that the show was anyway set to go off air in the month end!
Is it not sounding very amusing?
Who is right, here & who is not?
