Shivin Narang is an actor in the Indian TV actor and model who has acted in various TV shows and appeared in ad campaigns and music videos across his 8-year long career.

He has garnered praises for his acting, friendly kind nature, and the innate talent at just being overall charming from across the Indian TV industry. With his cute looks and dashing personality, the actor has won many hearts across the country and internationally.

Shivin Narang was born on 7 August 1990 into a well-to-do family in New Delhi. His father, Girish Narang, is a businessman and his mother, Suman Narang, is a homemaker. Being the only child of his parents, he was very pampered a lot by them. In an interview, he revealed celebrating his birthday with Mickey Mouse cakes and Spiderman cakes as a kid. His zodiac sign is Leo.

He attended New Delhi's Summer Fields School and went to Skyline Business School to pursue B.Com. Shivin was good at sports, but he was not very good at his studies in school days. Due to which he was offered admission in B.A. instead of a commerce course. However, his parents did not want him to pursue B.A. so he first got enrolled for BBA and later, shifted to B.Com.

Sports were always his strength. He was always interested and very good at sports since his childhood. He was the sports captain of his school. Shivin also represented Delhi in National level shooting championships while he was in college.

He loves his parents a lot and looks up to them. He took up the role of Ranvi in “Ek Veer ki Ardaas Veera” on his mother’s conviction and love that show, although initially, he was a bit hesitant about it.

When Shivin was shooting for "Cahaya Cinta Season 2" in Indonesia, and his father suffered kidney failure, he made an exit from the show and remained absent from the industry for more than a year to support his parents.

He is sweet and humble with his family. During the lockdown period of coronavirus outbreak, he has been with his parents in these testing times.

He likes to do cute things to make his loved ones happy.

On his birthday, he always remembers to seek blessings from God and his grandma who is no more.

He is a private person and doesn’t flaunt his friendships. But he loves to party with his friends. He is fond of dogs and has a pet dog who he adores.

Shivin's parents expected him to take up the career of a businessman, but he craved for more in his life.

He never considered acting as a career option. When he was in the final year of his college, he got his portfolio made by a professional photographer for uploading the pictures on his Facebook. Soon he got some modeling offers and started making good pocket money. His pictures then impressed the creative team of "Suvreen Guggal - Topper of the Year" who asked him to audition for their show.

Subsequently, Shivin went to Mumbai, bagged the lead role in the show, and the rest, as they say, is happy history.

Shivin started off his career as Yuvraj Singh in "Suvreen Guggal - Topper of the year" opposite Smriti Kalra on Channel V from 2013-2015.

Yuvraj means "crown prince". Yuvraj Singh was the embodiment of his name. He was a handsome, carefree, "Haryana ka chorra" with the catchphrase "Bhai tera cheetah hai". He was a prankster and yet soft at heart. He couldn't resist adventures and girls couldn't resist him, but his heart only belonged to the one, Suvreen Guggal.

Shivin's first show, Suvreen Guggal, got him enough acknowledgment in the Indian TV industry. Shivin, being a sportsperson, played Yuvraj's athleticism amazingly.

Shivin was next seen from 2013–2015 in Star Plus' Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera as Ranvijay Singh opposite Farnaz Shetty. He was initially hesitant of doing a soap opera, but his mother encouraged him to take up Ranvi's role since she loved the serial.

Ranvijay Singh (Ranvi) was a farmer's son, who not only grew crops but also grew dreams. His name means "winner". He dreamt of fulfilling his father's dream of making a Krishi Vidyalaya in his village. A man of values and integrity, he was an ideal brother to his step-sister Veera, who got her educated sacrificing his own education and took care of her like her own mother.

Ranvijay was also an ideal son to his mother and an ideal husband to his wife, Gunjan. A musician at heart, he went on to become a famous singer eventually.

Shivin's portrayal of Ranvi in Ek Veer ki Ardas...Veera would always remain memorable.

In 2017, Shivin was seen in the Season 2 of Cahaya Cinta as Reyhan opposite Margin Wiehreem.

Reyhan, whose name means "Gift of God" , was a rich and handsome man, who reunited two twin sisters, Aisha and Ashanti, who were separated in childhood. He helped the sisters a lot. Eventually, he ended up falling in love with Aisha while Ashanti ended up falling for Reyhan.

Cahaya Cinta 2 that aired on ANTV was his first International TV show. He has a massive fan following in Indonesia owing to the popularity of Veera.

Unfortunately, he had to exit the show due to a family emergency. His father had suffered kidney failure, so he remained absent from the industry for more than a year to support his dad and mom.

Shivin then took up Colors' Internet Wala Love where he played Jai Mittal opposite Tunisha Sharma during the course of the year 2018.

Jai means "victory". He belonged to the affluent Mittal family who was famous for Mittal bhujia. He was an RJ by profession, and his life revolved around his fan following in social media, his friends, and his family. Playful and prankster, he was also very protective of his family, friends, and people he cared for. This protectiveness turned his equation with his frenemy and co-host Aadhya to the sweetest relationship of love, in "Internet Wala Love".

Shivin then got one of his most acclaimed shows, Beyhadh 2, where he played Rudra Roy opposite Jennifer Winget's Maya Jaisingh. It aired on Sony TV between late 2019 and early 2020.

Rudra, on translation, means "the roarer". Rudra Roy, born to the affluent Roys, is fearless, strong and has a strong moral compass. He loves passionately and is very loyal, something that is very rare in today's times. His love can change the determination of the strongest. He can even sacrifice himself to bring light into the life of his love.

Shivin is highly appreciated for his performance in Beyhadh 2, Sony TV since it has started on December 4th, 2019. People loved his on-screen chemistry with Jennifer Winget, and his onscreen best friend in the show Kangan Nangia.

The show ended abruptly owing to the Coronavirus outbreak, leaving fans utterly disappointed. About the same, Shivin commented that the show was of fine quality and the story line was well consumed by the fans. The abrupt ending would only set things off. He said that the story of Maya and Rudra needed more time. A logical yet unexpected ending would have been the best for the story. But he also added that the people’s situation at the moment comes first and hence he stood with the decision of the makers.

Shivin went on to participate in Colors' Khatron Ke Khiladi 10 after denying the show many times.

He did not accept the offer previously primarily because of his fears which he said he was not prepared to face. This time, however, he decided to ask himself "Why not?" and faced his fears.

He has thalassophobia (fear of deep waters), a fear he faced both in KKK 10 and Beyhadh 2 where he shot in the Ganges for about seven hours.

Besides the fear of deep waters, he also has acrophobia (fear of great heights) and creepy crawlies. His fans saw him conquer many of his fears like a hero, and also give up on some. He got eliminated on 18 July 2020, acquiring 5th position.

Shivin feels that his personal experiences also helped him grow as an actor, especially whenever his roles require him to portray a range of emotions. He said in an interview, that he understood the real meaning of empathy when he went through a difficult phase of his life when his father was put on a ventilator because of kidney failure.

He likes to use a waiting period for an actor productively and works on himself by learning new things and honing his craft. He believes that if he wants to break stereotypes, he has to upgrade himself.

Shivin featured in a video song “Dil Zaffran” with Palak, sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and produced by T-series. It was released in Oct 2018.

In Nov 2019, Shivin featured in the music video “Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi” with Divya Khosla Kumar. It is sung by Neha Kakkar and produced by T-series.

Shivin starred opposite Vartika Singh in Times Music’s “Chandeya Fitoor” in June 2020. It is sung by Shahid Mallya & Deedar.

Shivin's Bollywood Debut, Dheet Patangey was released on Hotstar premium on March 2, 2020. He was seen in the character of Maddy.

Maddy is an energetic happy-go-lucky youth who has immense love for cricket and flirting with girls. His dream of being a professional cricketer is unfulfilled, so he continues to feel happy whenever India wins a cricket match. He loves to write his wishes on a balloon and set it free. Shivin was offered this film when he was seeking to debut in a Bollywood film. Surprisingly, he had initially refused to hear the script of Dheet Patangey as it was about four friends. He wanted to do something solo and like a love story, like a typical commercial film with a good launch. But when he signed the film he gave his 100 percent, he also learned mixed martial arts for his debut.

The movie was originally meant to release in 2016 in theaters, which got delayed due to some unknown reasons.

Shivin also appeared in advertisements like OSSUM Body Mist, Kurkure, Platinum Evara, and Pran Litchi Drink.

Despite his looks, the actor is always on the lookout for different roles.

“I can't help my youthful image as I am a certain age and I can't play a 41-year-old man now at this young age. I obviously want to try out different roles that have different parameters but the parameter should not be age, it should be a distinctive role. Young hero roles are offered to me and I don’t mind them as long as they are meaty enough.” he said.

After acting in different love stories, he would like to try his hand at mythological shows, web series, and action dramas. He would like to play an army man as their personality and charisma are totally different. The other reason is after his college he wanted to join the army. So, he would like to live the life of an army man in the form of his role.

He believes that if not an actor, he would have been an athlete or shooting professional. In college, he was a National level shooter (10 m rifles shooting) .

He admits avoiding late-night shows of horror movies and is scared of rats. He shares that his most embarrassing moment was during school time, getting caught with his girlfriend on a movie date by his parents.

The script of a project is the most important thing he looks at when he chooses a new project.

According to him, the hardest part of being an actor is “When you are committed to a project, you can’t go on a vacation, and can’t attend birthday parties or even family functions due to the time crunch."

Shivin created headlines by choosing Beyhadh 2 over Bigg Boss 13. He revealed that creative happiness was the main reason behind his choice. Being an actor, he would always choose fiction dramas over reality shows. What truly matters to Shivin is how he can showcase his craft and skills through his characters in serials. He wanted to be creatively happy in the first place. Shivin concluded saying that he has no regrets for rejecting Bigg Boss 13.

But as they say, never say never; there are rumors of Shivin being approached for the next season of Bigg Boss. The actor asserted in another interview,"If it is a great offer, I might take it."

About rigorous shooting schedules: "Given television’s hectic schedules and deadline pressures, things can get out of control at times. There’s a lot of travel each day because the sets are really far. So yes, it does affect your personal life, and health, too, can get affected. But then, I see it this way... I’m here because I want to be. Nobody forced me to do this. It is my dream and I can’t complain. This is how this industry works. You want to do it, do it. If you don’t want to, don’t be a part of it."

According to Shivin, the importance of mental health is something that should be taught since school days, everything from the symptoms to how to cope with it. Depression and its consequences like suicides are not industry-centric, it can happen to anyone. Due to the internet and social media, our lives are running quite fast that we are forgetting ourselves. However, he affirmed that people in the entertainment industry are more aware and open about it. The life of an actor is very unstable, as sometimes he is at a peak and sometimes he strives to make ends meet. So they accept that they are suffering from depression and they need to get it treated.

"Looks are the first thing that gets attention but without good acting, you can't survive. It's not your looks but your acting, which makes your path."

He believes an actor should rejuvenate himself before the fresh start of a new project. Nashik, Maharashtra is one of his favorite weekend getaways. He loved the mystic feeling he experienced in the journey and when he visited a few temples. He was quoted saying in an interview, "A break is important for anyone, as it makes you happy, energizes you and gives you a fresh perspective as an actor. Also, breaks are important for your mind."

He feels one should be cheerful to keep their heart happy and one must do what the heart says He believes when someone keeps their heart happy it remains healthy. One must have few close people in life to share their life with and one must smile daily and regularly.
