Logically and IRL she needs treatment and therapy. In western shows like Mr. Robot, they include the therapy in the show. But here everyone knows that mental health won't be handled delicately and therapy will not even be mentioned seriously.

So even the audience has to think in ITV terms while thinking about the future of the characters and story. And the makers of BY seems like prioritising drama over everything else.

That's why everyone is guessing and expecting stuff to happen as per the psychology of the writers, not of the characters coz consistency is seldom maintained. No 1 means any offense to real mental health issues. But to expect it to happen in here in realistic terms will only break the heart later.

We understand the present scenes are needed to show how vicious MJ is. But the USP of this show was Maya Jaysingh, not Manvi singh. So she needs to be back. If not immediately, atleast after some time. If not with MJ, then atleast with others.

Btw, I love your username. A doctor who fan 😍 ? Ironically the latest doc who episode also concentrated on mental health issues and inner fears.

I wish they would portray it sensitively in ITV but sadly the time hasn't come yet.

I actually love the fact that the writers have not at all forgotten about her PTSD and made her a superhuman whose every plan becomes successful no matter how hyperbolic a la Maya Mehrotra ( one of the many reasons why I could never warm up to that character despite being a JW fan). The fact they are not using the PTSD as a mere plot device but as something legitimate to show her character progression is what makes this show and the character realistic. We can't expect her to kick his balls from the very initial interactions itself...moreover the beaded thread is a placebo right now, she needs to understand the strength to face a monster comes from within! Moreover, Maya does not want to get healed and that's why she has not sought medical treatment as well.

PS: Yes I am a Dr Who fan and I am a doctor as well. I stopped watching after the 10th doctor's story got over! I need to change my UN..logged into IF after 6 years🤣

During that seduction scene, Maya was basically acting. she was playing a character. it was part of a game and unlike who she really is as a person. this version we are seeing around rudra, is the real her. That is why Rudra was annoyed then, he knew she was playing games with him and this is not the version of Maya he fell for.

When I start a show, I take some days to count the pros and cons and what to look for and whether that's enough to worth watching.

Aab first weeks me I searched for logic kyunki thriller hai. Pata chala ke microscopic logic bhi nehi hai. So my 'what to look for' dept. settled for -----sarcastic Rudra and seductress Maya's fierce passionate romance both being each other's knight in shining Armor.

But now I am confused ke what to look forward.

Dekho real life me waise bhi bohut jhol hai !! Shows me itna confusion nehi mangta. I only search for Logic in shows jahan har jagah logic ho. Logic nehi denge, drama denge toh thik hai.lekin uska toh consistency rahe.

Jahan pe character consistency nehi hai (rehta to first of all Rudra abhi bhi funny aur badass hota), wahan mein analysis nehi karti, entertainment dhundti hoon. Aur abhi mera insulin or estrogen saath me ro raha hai inhe dekhke

I understand it can be frustrating to see maya like this, especially since MJ is so cruel. However it has been maybe 4 days since she entered the roy house, it will just take a few days for her to orient herself with her new surroundings. additionally, she has not faced MJ for 10 years so of course, she never had a chance to get rid of her fear.

MJ's cruelty has not only shown us Maya's weakness, but also how battered and bruised she is. how little self-esteem she has, because MJ snatched it. Rudra's love gives her validation and perhaps also makes her feel that she is capable of something other then hate. After everything maya has been through, she deserves to feel worthy again.

Parallel to the marriage sequence.. it was nandini who pushed Rudra to search for Maya and his search led to those black Pearl's and bring her back..
