Definitely.. Especially in the UK
Around Asian communities as
Cousin marriages are allowed!
Soo many British Asians end up marrying their
Cousin whom they don't actually know!

You should watch pakistani serials then.😊
I am hindu indian who did not have much insight abt islam except for what was shown in bollywood which was mostly dargah, tying strings, shararas, qubool hai, nikaah etc.

But Since i have started following paki serials, i have been able to understand their lifestyle and a different islamic perspective. I feel islam is depicted more accurately in their serials than ours. Learnt a lot abt islamic way of living watching their shows.

I am always curious to learn and know abt other countries, their culture, religion, so i got hooked.
Culturally and content wise paki dramas are awesome.

I quit most indian serials for paki ones. (Biggest reason is that all serials are only 25 episodes long and Actresses are not decked up like showroom mannequins in heavy jewellery and dresses...lol)

I definitely recommend it to everyone.👏

In south india , Tamil nadu and andhra , marrying mother's brother, mama, (depending on age gap) is permitted.
In kerala and Elsewhere in south marrying mother's brother's daughter is permitted.
And since this relation is often declared in their childhood, since their younger days the kids dnt think of each other as brother-sister. Lol

It is a different story that nowadays no one does that because of genetic disorders it may cause.

I'm sure many who are not Muslims find it awkward or hard to digest because they consider their cousins like brother and sister. Since I'm a Muslim and in Islam marrying your cousin is allowed I'm totally ok with it. In the Quran it exactly identifies whom you cannot marry.
Prohibited to you (For marriage) are:- Your mothers, daughters, sisters; father's sisters, Mother's sisters; brother's daughters, sister's daughters; foster-mothers (Who gave you suck), foster-sisters; your wives' mothers; your step-daughters under your guardianship, born of your wives to whom ye have gone in,- no prohibition if ye have not gone in;- (Those who have been) wives of your sons proceeding from your loins; and two sisters in wedlock at one and the same time, except for what is past; for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful;- Qur'an4:23
As you can see cousins are not mentioned.
Also people might consider their cousin is like a brother or sister to them but coming to reality they aren't your brother or sister.
Speaking for myself I wouldn't want to marry my cousin but that's my opinion.
