Hi guys,

This post is a rant from someone who loved the show when it started. Just saw the latest promo and I felt the show has really lost its essence.

The show started with a little girl who questioned the norms of her time and wanted to change the world. She finds a guide and a someone who has the same ideology, someone who understands her questions and wants to give her the answers in her husband. It really was a fresh concept not because we have never seen a woman fighting against all odds for her rights but because this was a innocent young girl. The show was supposed to be from the pov of a little girl with all her childish nature. A girl asking for her rights to education and fighting evils in the society. And a man who goes against everyone to help her achieve that. It was supposed to be a story of revolution in society.

Instead what we have now is a child dealing with stuff she just shouldn't have to deal with. All the unnecessary drama of a family that just seems to get involved in all crazy things. A crazy ex, villain servant, heartless aunt and cunning sister. Bondita has become the ideal itv super bahu solving all problems the family faces and Ani is her sidekick. Together they fix everything. But the duo have some much family drama on their hands that they don't have time for society. Anirudh is a barrister but till date he has done nothing but talk about change and protect Bondita time after time. We haven't even seen him in barrister dress I guess. And Bondita's education is completely sidelined while she fights crazy ex, duplicate mom and new MIL now. Sampoorna is one character I have hated always. She doesn't deserve the love Bondita gives her. She is selfish just like her mom. She got Bondita in trouble always. Even now I understand she is angry with Rudita for her husband's death. That's acceptable. She could fight with bher or be angry but marrying her father in law ??? Crazy.

And so ITV has a killed a show again for me. I love the cast but I just can't even watch the promos any more. Too much negativity. I just hope ITV made shows that actually go by their plotline. Why can't the show have Bondita and Ani live like normal people ? Bondita could have her problems at school to deal with like being the only girl there, problems with her classmates and Ani could be shown tryimg to Kickstart his career. But no yahi drama chalega.

ITV centres around Saas bahu dramas and extended families living in one house and hating each other.. and being an overseas viewer I find that so outdated....because even though I’m Indian...we don’t live like that outside India. Majority of Indian people living outside India don’t live in extended family households presently,...most couples after marriage now ..live on their own ..so we don’t have to deal with mother in laws in our face 24/7. And majority of women continue working after marriage as living expenses are high and a house can’t be run on a single salary anymore ... So these ITV dramas are really so outdated to the rest of the world. With Barrister babu being a drama set 100 years ago..we can understand the scenario..but still we didn’t sign up for a saas bahu nonsensical drama ,..we expected lots more ..So I hope they get on track now. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't think this kind of drama happens in indian households either. Most people have nuclear families these days and if people do live with their in laws too there is no melodrama. Most women work too like u said. Atleast in my circles. I haven't seen this kind of huge joint families so far and if at all it is a joint family too people go about with their own business. Nobody today stands this kind of drama. So even to indians these kind of shows are outdated.

The only shows I have watched so far that reflect a normal household to some extent would be Dahleez, Silsila and maybe a few others.

So these ITV dramas are really outdated.. I don’t know why they can’t be more realistic and go with the times. And modern women nowadays especially if they are educated and financially independent ..are empowered,.they don’t stand for abuse and insult from mother in laws,,,so itv really needs to stop with this crap, saas bahu nonsense 🤷🏻‍♀️
