Nice post Apu.
To some extent I can understand Prabha's attitude towards Reeti...but that doesn't justify her actions either. She dislikes Reeti as she thinks Reeti and her father forced themselves on her sweet, innocent young son who still in her eyes is a kiddo and too young to marry. To top it all...the circumstances under which the marriage happened...i.e. she feels her son sacrificed his whole life for someone who is older than him and deserved much better, and also she feels that Reeti and family with their money power had her son under their control and got what they wanted...feels her son got a bad deal and cheated. She feels their situation and helplessness was exploited by Reeti. And Reeti and Poddar family have a bitter past...in her mind that misconception still exists to forgive and accept Reeti.What I dislike about Prabha even though I understand her POV was, she saw how obliging Reeti was to her all her demands and orders...yet she fails to give Reeti a chance to prove herself as a good wife or DIL...also she believes others easily without giving it a second thought. Her possessiveness over Vibhor has increased since marriage. Her insecurity seems foolish...as she has seen how her MIL treated them all and how strict the family rules and tradition are. Hope Prabha changes her attitude gradually and stands supportive of Reeti soon.

Yes, Prabha might feel cheated, but seeing Reeti's efforts to mix up with her, she should be more reasonable, as you said. She just seems to be uptight and someone who just DOES NOT want to adjust to changes or help others adjust as well. Stubborn and unyielding.
@bold- Her possessiveness is a big turn off because none of the other Poddar mothers are like that. The others understand that children grow up one day and need to have their own lives. Prabha is so silly- wanting Vibhor to be stuck to her pallu forever.
