Mads- absolutely loved what you wrote. True our show is like the paani Puri analogy that Meera once gave. When the content is good we don't have to shout out loud to sell the product.

But unfortunately the industry doesn't seem to value quality nor simplicity.
I have an urge to compare the crappy content of so many other "trp topping" shows whose ads come up when I watch BBKD to our show... But I will refrain .

I so want so compare The show that comes post BBKD where the Lead couple described their Family situation as India-Pakistan war situation , which made me roll my eyes...๐Ÿ˜†...

I mean look at the family differences depiction in BBKD ..and the other was nothing but just forced one ..

But Oh Well let it be... ๐Ÿ˜†

Rolling- OMG, the show that you be hinting at- hated it for going so melodramatic, caricaturish and blah blah.
Sad, bhaiyaa needed a longer stay..if not 150 odd, a 80-100 episode thing be perfect.

So many caps and GIFs ๐Ÿ˜› Each amd every moment of yesterdays episode is worth capturing and saving . A happy dose to lift the mood up anytime:)

Meeras expression when she is on her knees folding her hands with her eyes closed and also when she poses SRK style is so so adorable and cute. There is so much chidlike innocence in her:)

During all her ranting she calls Abhi JAGATBHAIYA ๐Ÿคฃ Matlab how does she manage auch awesomeness even while ranting ๐Ÿ˜†

I don't remember when was the last time a serial made me this happy. Probably some of the earlier episodes of NBT1...but I am still smiling just thinking about the episode long after I have watched it. This show is PLATINUM (platinum is better than gold, right?). Okay, I have a lot to say...

Agree with everything you said AY. Meera's rant was indeed epic. I loved how, at the beginning of her rant, Meera was gritting her teeth because she was THAT pissed. Then when Abhi approached her, it turned into pure exasperation at Abhi's stupidity especially since he is the one who always gets everything right. That 360 degree eye roll that Abhi did when Meera said "aur khudko mera dost kehte ho"...LOL. The last time they were together he said they weren't best friends...and ladki ghum firke emphasising on their friendship' again, Abhi is so not thrilled about it.

When Meera calls Abhi a tubelight and hits him on the head, Abhi broke into a smile; that was so endearing. And of course hitting Abhi with the hockey stick for calling her Meeraji...these two are beyond adorable. Added to that, the cousins laughing their a**es off, and dadi flinching as if someone pinched her๐Ÿ˜†. I loved Abhi's expression during Meera's speech leading to "I love you". He looks at her with so much warmth and adoration in his eyes. Even amidst being amused with Meera's I haven't even showered' rant, he looked at her so lovingly. Why is Meera so cute? Why? Her innocence just tugs at your heartstrings. And wow...segue isse kehte hai! "From "kal se nahayi bhi nahin hoon main" (Even Ramraj was facepalming at that moment) to "inhi kapdo me dekha than a tumne?" to "dekha to zaroor hoga! Ghurte rehte ho na tum mujhe?!"๐Ÿคฃ

Loved that Abhi knelt down to say I love you, instead of pulling her up. That was sweet. Their exchange of I love yous again and hug while the cousin's circled around them to let them have a moment of peace was the best thing ever. The male version of dil ki bhasha' was so needed at this moment. I missed the song so much! Cousins clapping and Kapil clapping later again when Meera says zaban and dil are both Abhi's and who is to decide which is more important...so cute. There can never be another Meera or Abhi (chullu bhar pani mein doob maro, Sony!).

The family drama! That was entertaining and well-executed. Before becoming numb, dadi actually looked like she wanted to tear Meera into pieces. I, for once, understood Papa Raizada's reservations with Abhi-Meera's alliance especially after seeing the way the family interacts and how Madhu insulted Meera. Yeah, he is snobbish and a douchebag, but even without being that I would assume that any father would have a problem with a family like this. Another bit, which had me laughing, was Papa Raizada's W*F is she talking about' reaction to Madhu's kheer analogy. Between Papa Raizada and Dadi, I think I dislike the latter more. I really do.

Abhi looked annoyed when Radhika reminded everyone, including me, that she existed by crying. I think the reason for showing Radhika to be so despicable is that when Abhi breaks off his marriage with her, literally no one would sympathise with her or be like 'Abhi shouldn't have done that to a girl'๐Ÿ˜†. Abhi and Meera holding hands throughout was priceless. I really appreciated the fact that Abhi mainly dealt with his family while Meera with her dad and only talked to Madhu when she directly addressed Meera. The precap is so DDLJ...jaa Meera jaa, ji le apni zindagi!๐Ÿ˜†

Loved your analysis, facepalm!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Especially the bit in bold...since you seem to be an ex-NBT viewer too, you'll get this reference..."Mera bhi same to same"๐Ÿ˜†

Word on the WARMTH and ADORATION in Abhi's eyes as he was watching Meera's rants, her antics...PJ is so brilliant at emoting subtly with his eyes...the balance was just right in the scene...you could feel Abhi's love for this mad girl๐Ÿ˜†.

Everything was done with a kind of sehej...like the way he kneeled down instead of making her stand up...or the way he held her hand again when she was going on her rant of, "Maan lo tumhari galti hai"๐Ÿ˜†

And yes they dealt with their families with dignity too...both of them looked so upset at the way the families were talking, still they were firm and dignified on their stance...and spoke to their respective families as needed.

Meera initially looked pretty scared of Prahlad and needed a moment to gather courage and start talking to him.

I don't even know where to begin about the episode. It was just so heart-warming and filled me with all kinds of emotions-I went through Meera's exasperation as Abhi failed to understand why he had to be the one to help her realize, I went through Abhi's happiness as he finally realized his far fetched dream, as Meera found her way towards his heart as he'd hoped somewhere deep down she would, when he set her free. But before I can elaborate more about that, I have to say a few things that have been consuming my mind since the last couple of days whenever I log onto IF, where TB has one or the other article saying "xyz show breaks societal traditions" or "watch some abc show and see how the FL shines through" and all I could do it laugh at the sheer stupidity of it all.

You see, because our show NEVER boasted of such things, but instead SHOWED them in their own way. It started with the most cliched concept ever and the team elevated it to such a level that I am still left marveling- what could have possibly been attractive about a loud, obnoxious family finding the "perfect" dulhania for their only dutyful son? What could have been endearing about yet another bubbly-chirpy girl wanting to find her own happiness? And yet, with each episode I found myself saying "THIS is why the show has a class apart from other shows". It didn't have a rajshri productions to boast about how happy and merry the family members were and yet, you could tell in every episode that NO MATTER how much they fought, the Pants have such a deep-seeded adoration and love for each other. Neither did it promise us an intense love story...and yet, every new interaction of Abhi-Meera, every connection between them established their relationship and by the time they actually confessed their feelings for each other, the sheer comfort level with which they proceeded to the next level just showed how deep their bond already is. It didn't promise us comic relief and yet, the dialogues, incidences, situations made us laugh so whole-heartedly. Our FL might not be "educated" and "independent", but her presence of mind and her ability to uncannily speak the right thing at the right time made even her IAS educated family speechless, heck it even stumped Abhi- who is the personification of an educated and sorted ML. Our ML was not promised as a "passionate lover", yet, we can be sure when it comes to protecting Meera's dignity and self-respect, he will even go against his own beloved family.

Despite having every single reason to turn out bitter and ungrateful towards life and familial ties, both Abhi-Meera grew up to be such wonderful human beings, with their own set of beautiful flaws.

And yesterday's proposal reiterated this once again. All they want is to be happy and their happiness lies with each other...neither will they bow down to their families this time nor will they be so stubborn as to not care about their family's opinions. They will face it together, as a unit, their love being their biggest strength. Be it Abhi telling Amma ever so softly, yet, with such conviction that he only agreed to get married to Radhika because Meera didn't feel the same way, or Meera trying to explain to her family how she is genuinely, truly, happy this time. Despite all the drama, the obvious clashed of class and status, it was such a realistic take on how a couple manages to convince their families about their love. Have to mention here the random gossip aunties who stoo outside to enjoy the "show"... Who would even think about bringing in such a contrasting dimension to an otherwise melodramatic scene. I wish I could give massive hugs to the entire team- they are truly special.

When Meera went down on one knee and declared her ever-adorable and endearing love and proposed him, I echoed Babli's emotions and actually cried (thanks to PJ and ND for evoking that in me), because I felt every bit of the happiness in seeing Abhi get the much deserved adoration and unconditional love that he kept on spreading in his family and which had kept them all together all these years. When Abhi engulfed Meera protectively and caressed her head fondly and Babli finally declared her support for them both, I was giddy with emotions for Meera, because she finally got the much deserved appreciation for the kind of person she is and that khushi she had been yearning for, for all these years.

But my favorite moment has to be when the cousins formed a protective circle around their bhaiyya-bhabhi where nobody, not even the family members had an entry. They in a way stole my role, because I too, felt that the moment should be cocooned. That scene and that moment was so special, I cannot even begin to describe it.

The family drama then was inevitable: a clash of mindsets and prejudices, prahlad and amma can contest on who is the most ruthless, but I guess precap suggests Prahlad won. But Meera stole the show yet again when she gave a strong takkar to Madhu chachi- someone had long ago raised a doubt about HOW meera would be able to adjust amongst the Pants, I guess they got their answers yesterday. Meera is just like them, loud, impulsive, madcap...she fits with them perfectly, but won't take things lying down, rather, face them in her own way with her own charms. No wonder she is the cousins' 'superwomania'. She can be a kid with them and be more mature than most whenever required. Sigh, Meera jaisi sach mein koi nahi. She is even more special to me because I was so unimpressed by her in the first 3-4 epis, but then pata nahin kaise, without me even realising she started growing on me so much, Guess I would give ND the credit for most of this transformation ๐Ÿค—

Yesterday's episode made me soo soo happy that I don't even care about the fact that the show is ending anymore. Will I be upset that I won't get to see Abhi-Meera and their attempts to handle the madcap Pants after marriage?--more than I can possibly even express. But then, I am happy we will get atleast a glimpse of their married life, something to cherish for and the rest is ofcourse left to our imagination.

Right now, I just want to give massive hugs to every single person who worked on the episode yesterday- starting with PJ, ND, ALL the actors, director, camera waale bhaiyya, creatives, dialogue-writer, editor and every other crew member ...
๐Ÿค—

Tere jaise sona koi, kahin nahi hona koi!

Awww Mads๐Ÿค— Awesome post, loved reading it!

Your beginning wala rant can give some takkar to Meera ka rant๐Ÿ˜†...I know where you're coming from...I facepalm whenever I see those headlines on IF too but yehi culture ho gaya hai ab...tucchi cheezein and clickbait crap rules๐Ÿ˜†...

People are making buzzfeed style "5 reason to love this and that" posts on all kinds of lameass shows...but perhaps the very fact that this show didn't achieve that kind of rabid popularity ALLOWS for an episode as beautiful as yesterday's to exist๐Ÿ˜Š

Yesterday's epi was just immense heart on every level...whether it was Abhi-Meera finally managing to find their way to each other and oh so earnestly tell each other about their feelings or the way they were handling the families ka drama...that combination of Abhi's polite yet firm stance and Meera's innocent yet matter of fact wisdom...and them being united on this being about THEIR happiness, their lives...they got it all so right๐Ÿ‘

You know I can't even remember anymore that I used to be a bit doubtful about Meera's character at one point...ND has won me over on every level๐Ÿ˜†...This girl, man.

I like it that way ...๐Ÿ˜ณ LOL no, Babli did call him Abhi in one scene...the b'day epi...when Sona took the cake to her, she said, "Happy Birthday, Abhi" while watching the video of him cutting the cake๐Ÿ˜†...my theory is that show waale got inspired from our little nickname for him here๐Ÿ˜†...otherwise he was always called Abhishek in the show.

That Chilli-Panneer bit ..[ROFL] Ramrakj further adds...Teri Chutney banake , isse sukhe Paneer ko usmein dooboke khaungaa... [ROFL] the detailing of Paneer ..sukha huaa ๐Ÿ˜† hahahaha yes, sameee...I was just ROFL-ing over the way he was detail mein calling the paneer SOOKHA and berating the poor waiter...matlab BOSS level of comedy in yesterday's epi๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜†

Comedy was so pitch Perfect yesterday ...and the way it was amalgamated with Drama...Superb ..
Crazy Screenplay ...absolutely ..and the Team had Ball executing It..

Babli was back to her Fierce mode , when she said It's Abhishek's khushi that matters to me ,. Meera had such a sweet smile there ...

Also there was one Moment , when cousins encircle them ..Sona looks up at Babli as if asking "Ab theek hain naa" ...Cousins and Babli had always been such a staunch Abhi-Meera Shipper..
Cousins running commentary was Hilarious ... Yeah I noticed this bit too when Sona looked up at her...the cousins really have been a source of immense warmth too...especially Sona and Mona...Rohan toh steals the show simply with his fav. one liner, "Bade Bhaiyya ki Dulhaniya mil gayi"๐Ÿ˜†

I've noticed how the writers diligently gave good lines to all of the cousins...well in character...Anita with her shaadi obsessions, Kapil enjoying the tamasha and lagaaoing shart with Sona...Sona getting worried, Mona being oh so happy to see this epic lowe story unfolding...lol and Rohan blissfully happy, period...perfect image it was.

Namita was SO GOOD is enacting the exasperation .. Superb Voice Modultaion by Her ..
and that bit where she says "Ghurto toh ho tum mujhe"...SOLD Man... How can one not just adore and fall in Love with this Girl...
Priyansh's ...sigh!! ..the Love , Adoration , Softness ...that his eyes portray...Amazeballs..!!! +100

But then, the show anyways has a DDLJ obsessed character in it...Meera...how can she not then have her very own DDLJ moment in her love story?๐Ÿ˜†

Let's give him a little more credit...he stood up for her everytime in front of d-bag Aman...almost punched him too๐Ÿ˜†

Then just a few epis back when the chachis were tying that turban on him and Madhu was talking crap about Meera, he shut her up then also...haan tab he did it indirectly by saying ki woh chali gayi hai so don't talk about her๐Ÿ˜†

Aww the Pani Puri analogy is indeed perfect...this show didn't need false advertising to promote it...even the failure pahaad analogy works...cuz what Sony views as a Failure has actually nurtured joy in so many of us...it has been rock solid.
