I understand that mads- isliye the first thing I said was thank goodness they showed that marriage as planned and only rushed this bit. They are fabulous bunch no second thoughts about that.. Not even one bit.

Amma is the quintessential selfish old saas...in this case daadi saas...not for once is she thinking about abhishek...it is all about her...even when abhishek had come to talk to her at nite time, she is like have u come here to speak in favor of your wife...wow! Someone needs to shake some sense into her...n that continued today...yes...Meera was at fault but anyone could see how she was defending abhishek...when was the last time anyone from pant elders spoke in favor of abhishek or in keeping with his desires? Amma in her selfishness announces Meera will come when she decides...Erm excuse me...who the hell are you to decide about husband n wife...aise couple ko separate US immigration bhi nahi karta ...lol

Anu: Awww hugs🤗 so jao, jaldi se. Yeah, I get what you mean about her basic orthodox nature... still, I felt within that frame also she was blinded coz of her ameerzaadi waali soch...for example if it were Radhika instead of Meera she would have probably been more forgiving even in these situations, coz Amna has this typical hypocritical nature you know- mere ghar ke logon ki sirf main bura-bhala kahungi lekin bahar ke log bole toh THEY are wrong 😆. So many examples we have seen of this. Anyways, like you said, it would have been interesting to see Meera's funda being applied to the ridiculous muh dilkhai ceremony, they could have balanced it...this show could have been a revolution of sorts in so many ways and just via Meera- how she handles situations in the most unconventional of ways...one prime examples being usske rasgoolle waali analogy...but, sigh...rehne hi dete hai ab toh, bolke bhi fayda nahi hain! 😆

Re BTS: haha, I just now remembered the very last cake-cutting segment, and the bit when PJ so proudly pats ND's back as she finished reading Maaria's letter and her last line "goodnye nahi,see you again", coz that's a Meera thing...and it took me back to the remote control waala episode where meera says that she wants someone to pat her back despite her failures and yahan, by patting her back, PJ did exactly that- appreciated Meera and indirectly the show, despite its so called perceived failure..😳😆

yeah meera did try to speak up but nobody really allowed her to say anything until it was too late

LOL the comparison with ZGH is again unfair because that show is based on a complete book, a complete story...there was no room for sudden shutdowns or anything there...there was a start, finish, and end...character evolution had happened fully.

This show never even got the chance to get to that stage...they just hadn't shown enough material to believably manage to show Meera and Abhi being philosophical and taking in stride how horrible their families were being to each other...that's not in their character.

Abhi's entire character is based on how he scrambles around trying to keep peace in his family, make everyone get along...so he would never be philosophically narrating something like that so quickly. They needed more time to execute that kind of ending.

Ideally though, I wish they could have just ended on a montage of scenes of Abhi-Meera's life over the years...into budhaapa😆...but again I guess there wasn't enough time to manage to execute that.
