Yep, it was all about the moments that the show created.
Granted, it would have been better for the show if they could have worked on providing a more cohesive arc for some of the plotlines...a more compelling overarching story...but then after a point, you start to understand that the show itself is like Meera...you have to understand the intent behind the facade and not really look for the perfect whole...and once you do that, only two things can happen...you either fall in love with the show like you do with Meera, all her imperfections included or you become like Aman and you move on to the next superficially "perfect" facade you can find😆
This show attempted something different in it's narrative style and characterizations...yes, in some ways they oversimplified things...but in other ways, they managed to create really heartwarming characters and situations...and I just appreciated the fact that I got to see something different...like usually all shows invest in fancy clothes, big sets etc. etc...but here the investments were in things like a beautiful set, bg score, theme song, technical finesse...and it wasn't like those things were just gloss...they felt like a part of the show's fabric, it's characters...
Yes, maybe things would have been different if the show had a more hard-hitting storyline...but then it wouldn't be Meera we would be watching...it would be the usual thing...Meera toh aise hi milni thi...and I just grew to love that somehow.
Frankly it all boils down to the fact that Indian TV will never be ready for a genuinely "imperfect" female lead like Meera...more than her zaniness, it's stuff like her aimless laziness that people reject...it's hard for people to wrap their minds around a character that doesn't give you something solid to hold on to...lol and frankly I've struggled a bit with that regarding Meera initially too so I get that...but this show had a pretty good payoff if people hang on and watch the evolution of the interactions b/w Abhi-Meera...there is a reason this confession has been pulled off so well...because the characters got good build-up b/w them.
@bold-that is the reason, this show doesn't have a huge fan base coz most people including online viewers couldn't connect with the randomness the show is .They also just want a hormone flying couple with all the pushing and pulling which this show doesn't have.
As mads had once compared meera with modern art painting.similarly, this show is like modern art.Everytime you watch an episode, you discover something new.Like wherever, i watch the old episodes, i discover more of everyone, be it abhishek, meera, rohan, pant family.
It's good. that they didn't had a hard-hitting storyline. I wouldn't have liked the show then.I love the show for its randomness, chararacter interactions, dialogues, cinematography
@blue-that's never gonna happen.Trp viewers would have labelled her bigdi hui in the first episode itself😆
and by god agar aage ke episodes dekhte, they would have been like meera is the worst a girl can get😆
kaha par unki sanskaari ishita, pragya, sandhya aur kaha par hamaari Meera😆,eksum hatke😎 and man,i am proud of her.
@green-I have never struggled in understanding meera.I loved her for her antics and was amused by her.I never got into details explanation of why Meera is doing this or doing that.I always used to look forward for her coz she is an enigma and she made me smile and inspired me with her talks. She actually made me accept my flaws which i was never ready to accept myself. All thanks to Meera. She has made me a better human bieng.
The people who didn't hang on the show actually missed a lot
