Wow!! So much debate going around for love realisation scene. Finally the forum is alive๐Ÿ˜† Its nice to read so many different perspectives on the scene.

I totally get that Abhi was pretty much smitten by Meera from the beginning. Abhi fell for her a bit more everytime they interacted. Being with her always brought a smile on his face and constant sense of wonderment. So for me Abhi realising her love for Meera was not sudden but the way it was executed was.

Sanjay tells Abhi that Meera helped to get the extension for home stay. (Which reminds me ,if Meera had helped getting an extension then what was yogis role in the same๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜†. That Man got free pass mainly because of this๐Ÿ˜• The very next instant he just goes into that dream mode. I felt the way it was shown was sudden.

I agree with Mahapurush who says "Simplicity mein hi sundarta hai"๐Ÿ˜† Thats what I like about the show and its setting.

Ofcourse you do๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿ˜†

And here you go, bringing another perspective to the debate...you think the build up was fine but you didn't like the STARTING point for the realization...the convo with Sanjay...hahaha we can keep this going on and on๐Ÿ˜†...they can't make all of us happy at the same time, hence proved๐Ÿ˜†

I finally managed to listen to the full song aaraam se...totally loving it now

Love these lines:

"Udne se rok paaye, pehra na koi
Sang tere main maanoon daayra na koi"

So fitting for Abhi's feelings...

Oh and these ones:

"Jaane kaisa rishta hai, tere mere beech mein
Kahin rahoon paas tere, laaye dil kheench re

...na mera kasoor ve, na tera kasoor ve"

Aww such a cuteee song...ok I'm having a delayed reaction now๐Ÿ˜†...Finally ripped the audio too :)

Hmmm are you trying to say that Meera might abandon Abhi like Yogi did and that will create issues b/w her and Abhi? Dunno...I think it's still different...Abhi loves her but he isn't currently holding her to the same expectations given the class and other differences b/w them...dunno how that will change if/whenever they get together or get married.

I think the main issue will be to convince the families. As the Pants will have a huge issue to bring a DIL from rich family and Raizadas will have a status issue and also the fact that Abhi is the only support of such a big family. And I so wish that Yogi is a fraud baba and absconding๐Ÿ˜† after doing some kaand.

I think it's going to be a mutual journey for Abhi-Meera...they both have a lot still to discover and recover about their dreams for their life...I don't expect Meera to take off on her own and discover any passions...storyline seems to indicate that all her passions will be spent navigating the kooky Pant family๐Ÿ˜†

I can deal with the families ka dumb drama as long as they keep the Abhi-Meera equation endearing even post shaadi or whatever๐Ÿ˜†

haha I'm also waiting to see the day they show that Yogi is still a fraud baba...nothing else would make sense for his character right now...

@anu,you have said it all
Nothing more to add
Abhi is simple person for who is not fighting with the concept of love or any other emotion.
As you said, meera is the first dream he allowed himself after giving up his engineering dream, even after knowing the dream is unachievable.
Meera is like a ray of sunlight who just came into his life and lit up his life
Meera is the girl who found out the difference between abhishek's formal smile and real smile, which indirectly means she was the first person who taught her to smile and laugh.
Before meera came into his life, abhishek was living a monotonous life handling homestay and family bt meera bought the freshness into his life which taught him to smile, dream and think about himself.
This brings to me the dialogue that abhishek once said to meera,
baag me chahe phool kitne hi ache kyu na khile ho.jhoomte tab hi hai jab thande hawa ka jhonka aata hai"
Meera came to life like that breath of freah air which taught him to smile, laugh and think about himself.

what you said today in your post, PJ said the same in his IV when he was asked why does abhishek loves meera.he also said, "meera usko khush rakhti hai.uski family ki care karti hai.aur wo sab karti hai jo aaj tk kisi ne nahi kiya abhishek ke liye.she is a wonderful human bieng with a big heart"

Even in the birthday iv,PJ said,"aaj tk kisi ne usko itna special nahi feel karwaya"

It's meera's choti choti harkate whoch gives abhi choti choti khushiya and he falls more for her day by day.

As far as meera's realization goes, she needs a jolt to know her feelings. She also has feelings for abhi like we saw yesterday bt she wl need a jolt like abhi getting engaged or some jealousy angle, although it's cliche bt lets see cvs can surprise us.

Loved the post, Anu..thanks a lot for making it.

Meera might be hazy for you and me, but not for Abhi. He is such a simplistic person, all he can see at this moment is, the girl cared for him and his family in so many different ways, somethings that should be unimportant for a mere guest at the pant bhavan home stay:
1. celebrated rohan's bday

2.made sure the pant bhavan homestay property tax deadline was extended

3.Stopped that writer stephanie from leaving pant bhavan homestay

4.keeps on ensuring that Abhi is happy, he is smiling and he is okay. In the forest too, she burnt her clothes and wasted her perfume just to make sure Abhi was okay. No doubt it would look random and stupid to you and me, but for Abhi in that moment, all that mattered is how much the girl cares for him, possibly as much as nobody had cared.

5.Inspired the cousins to think beyond themselves (remember they all wanted to contribute at one point out of their piggy banks during the stephanie haadsa?)

If i watch all the epis then i will definitely find many more such small things that she has done out of her whim and fancies and her ping-pong ish nature, but all of those things nonetheless, seem selfless to Abhi. He doesn't care for her inconsistencies, he adores her despite that, rather, he doesn't even see all of that at the moment. For her Meera=a girl who spreads laughter happiness by her selfless deeds.

For a guy who loves his family so much, or even someone else too, if they care for you so much, how can you not fall in love with them?

Surely, this might be the beginning of an infatuation or crush or whatever you may call it, but a guy like Abhi who has zero experience in romantic relationships will but obviously categorize his feelings as love- its puppy love or pehla pyaar. He loves her for what she brings to his life, it's as simple as that. For him, it lies somewhere between being smitten by her and falling deeply and irrevocably in love with her, after all, that is how all relationships begin. The depth comes in later as they interact more and more with each other. Whether those inconsistencies in her are a problem in their later part of relationship, who knows? Yes, they might be and probably they will-but that doesn't mean he cannot realize his feelings for her now. You are right, Anu...love is always a work in progress. No matter at what point you realize it, the growth is steady and over the time, especially if it is one that culminates into shaadi. So even if Abhi's love...or infatuation (if you will), is right now at a superficial level, considering the kind of guy he is, it will develop into deeper emotions only eventually. Right now, he has just scratched the surface when it comes to Meera, when she reciprocates his feelings, that is when the real journey will start. Sure, love as in romantic love is only defined and realized when the other person feels it too, but there are some forms of love that are beyond any such conventional definitions- meera inspires abhi to become a little more selfish and fight for his own happiness than before. Now this show doesnt stress too much on it, but it is glaringly obvious if you read between the lines- also, full credit to PJ for this: his dialogue in friday epi, where he says to yogi uncle "itna toh main maang hi sakta hoon khud ke liye" is such a wonderful 360 from "main bas sabko khush rakhna chahta hoon".. This is what Meera's love and her presence in his life did to him, only he has realized it faster than other guys would, but i find this consistent with his character sketch so far.

Now this was Meera from Abhi point of view.

Apne aap mein toh Meera is no doubt a bunch of contradictions and i get it why people cannot connect with her- it is because if you try to rationalize her actions, it would be impossible to do so, hence she seems so inconsistent and lame. Meera is like modern art- you see something in the picture for a moment, its there and then in a flash, it's gone. The colours are a mismatch with one another, the shapes do not fit in perfectly to give you a feel of a real picture, unlike contemporary art you cannot dissect this one and explain to someone else why you saw what you saw. You just either accept it the way it is or you dont.. Now this might seem to some as a rather sophisticated way to say that a character was badly written, lol..but somehow, be it the narrative or the acting or direction, this modern art appeals to me a lot. I find her endearing, her bunch of contradictions are absolutely fascinating. When she says "main bas khush rehna chahti hoon", she means she WANTS to find happiness or is trying to find happiness in every situation, whatever life throws at her, not that she does that already, it's her longtime wish or dream- to be happy and satisfied in whatever she does, to be around people who tell her it's okay to do so...but what separates her from other FLs her type is her deeply seeded insecurities about not being good enough for her family, not living upto their expectations, being a failure in their eyes...all of these far supercede what would have otherwise seemed a confident, happy-go-lucky persona, that would not even think about stepping into such a seemingly lifeless marriage that is doomed to end in unhappiness. Par woh itna duur ki nahin soch rahi hai, Meera is craving for her family's love and respect and right now she thinks the only way to do so is by getting married...look how easily she agreed to get married in the first place.. Who does that?! This is the basic difference between her definition of happiness and with other FLs, who wouldn't compromise for their personal happiness with anything else. For meera, happiness is gaining her parents' love and confidence. Because her parents weren't around to pat her back when she was failing, to tell her that it is okay to be herself and that she doesn't need to uphold the family name. Sure, they accept her, love her, are patient with her, let her be, let her do all those 6-month courses etc...but somewhere keep on hoping ki "woh sudhar jaaye"...what they don't get is that, there is nothing to sudharofy here. And if there is, they are not doing a great job at inspiring that change by forcing her to do something.
The reason she finds a connection with Abhi is because of how he so easily told her that she doesn't have to necessarily be successful in life, be confident and smart and knowledgeable to feel good about herself. When he gave the analogy about failure pahad, he again spoke of exactly that- the pahad is still and does nothing, all it does is that it gives happiness and some much neede peace and quiet to it's visitors..and sometimes, some people need just that-someone who would stand by you, like a solid rock, support you through thick and thin and keep on caring for you no matter what the circumstances are...and Meera, for all her inconsistencies is exactly that. She isn't stable like the rock, but her affections for the people she cares about, are. Her unwavering loyalty, albeit, only to those she considers her apne log- are the only consistent feature in her otherwise weird and "inconsistent" character, look at her from this POV and you will suddenly start to see the alignment of the colours and shapes in this modern art.

Phew! That was a long essay, but a much needed one... Thanks again, for this post. ๐Ÿค—

About Meera realizing her love for Abhi...lol, I won't be surprised if it turns into something completely dramatic as running out of her own wedding etc.. There is no underlying attraction for her, she just feels super comfy and happy to be in his company, she finds a connection with him...but despite all the friend zoning, she cares for him and his happiness enough to jeopardize the one thing that would make her family happy (in her eyes atleast).. Perhaps, the last one will prompt her realization? It is obvious she has never been in love before, considering how normally confused she is, I wouldn't be surprised if this takes even longer... All she knows is she cares for him and likes him as a friend..

Shaadi won't happen until abhi makes sure she loves him too...that's for sure.

Ohh, forgot to mention- when Abhi says, "shayad hum mumkin ho?"...it is not really spoken with knowledge or conviction, but rather a result of what happens when you like someone- there is automatically a hope with every action of that person and you WANT to believe there is a future for the two of you. It's in those moments that Abhi seems deluded, especially the other day when he kept on saying "riya aur aman ki engagement ", coz in his head, meera is only his. But the moment the reality crashes in about their preponed engagement, he never again hopes for that.

Wow - very well-written, and I completely agree with you on all your views, especially the paragraph about the realization being necessary to move the story forward. That was how I felt about it as well.

I feel like there's not much to add, everyone seems to have contributed their thoughts in a lot of detail. Just some thoughts on today's episode - I really enjoyed seeing a thoroughly irritated Abhishek today. It all started with the speech he gave Yograj yesterday, and you can see how that completely messed him up. I felt like he would have punched Aman right there in the beginning of the episode had Meera not intervened with her whole "someone vomited on the sofa" comment. ๐Ÿ˜†

I didn't feel sorry for Aman at all in the cafe scene - once he realized what the situation was, he could have taken charge and took care of Meera, but instead he was just standing there not contributing at all whatsoever - the hero had no choice but to save the girl.

Slowly all those feelings and anger that have been pent up in Abhishek are all coming out - looks like Aman's gonna get it from him tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
