I am liking Priya’s character sketch so far - very refreshing for ITV & I hope she doesnt become a typical bahu later. But she does seem to have too much time for a working woman who also helps at the bakery & at home. Another thing I don’t get is why she even tolerates her father’s entry into her house, why can’t she kick him out or just ignore him. In the chakkar of showing us the Priya’s hurt, the writers are forgetting that she has suffered these hurts some years ago so by now they will not be so raw & she wld have learnt to ignore.

I am finding Ram’s characterisation OTT - again he was hurt by Vedika’s marriage a good while ago so by now he wld have enuf control not to tear up each time he sees her. Even people who lose a loved spouse stop tearing up at the very mention with the passage of time, so this is overdoing it. The pill popping is also ott & inconsistent with other aspects of his character. He also seems to have too much free time, too little self-confidence & is too much of a softie to be such a big successful businessman.

The problem is writers think the audience is dumb so they have to show us every character trait explicitly, repetitively, excessively so that we get it.

I took think she is being too hyper. I would accept her losing temper when Ram was trying to match make! However the other two scenes like the one where she accuses Ram being responsible for Akkis audition cancellation, she was too hyper. Also during the confrontation at home when he came looking for his sister, even then. But she was much more toned down in ydays episode when Ram proposed to her in the corridor! She handled it pretty maturely.

Actually for that matter even Rams scenes of him taking all those pills everytime and his lovey dovey dialogues with Vedika and the constant Vedu jaap and him crying over Vedika and staring aat her even when shes with her husband a bit ott too. Who even does that!

Even that should reduce. But I am happy in yday's episode neither Ram swallowed pills nor was Priya ott! Both were realistic given the situation. Ram did get confused but his confusion was realistically portrayed is what I thought.

They are toning it down a bit is what I feel.

Both lead characters are annoying AF. In Priya’s case I think it’s the fault of the actress who plays her. Her voice and tone are very grating so to hear endless lectures being delivered in that voice and tone, gets very difficult. Yes yes we get it she’s been let down by men but that doesn’t mean she never smiles or is never happy. I mean she does have a loving family doesn’t she ? Still she has a permanently grumpy face that is extremely off putting. One can be sad about being let down in life without walking around with a permanent chip on the shoulder and looking pissed off at the world.

No one is saying she has to be a doormat. Far from it. But this actress needs to take it down a few notches.

Ram Kapoor - the writers probably think they’ve created such an out of the box character who’s child like, food obsessed, rain obsessed, will give up my life for his family etc etc. It’s actually getting beyond annoying to see him chomping food and popping pills in every scene. And shedding tears for his ex. Not to mention the constant talk of baarish which seems to be the third lead character of this show 😆

By the way, does Ram do any work apart from ensuring his step sister gets married, matchmaking random people, getting wet in the rain, crying and making puppy eyes at his ex ?

Though I'm enjoying the show, it IS a bit OTT, and if it is this in the beginning, I'm a little skeptical about what will they show later.

I completely understand Priya's bitterness for men, it is expected given her experience with them. But on the other hand she also has seen men like Akki and possibly her mama who are good n responsible men

I also understand, heck I love Ram's love for Vedu. But he also needs to step back a little and reevaluate his world view a bit

Being bitter or negative is ok, being a shrew is not appealing!

Not being able to forget your love is ok, being caring and sensitive is wonderful, but behaving like a love sick puppy for so many years is not attractive!

And what should I say about the father! He is shown to be unnecessarily rude, critical and hateful. He has left his first wife n daughters but feels the need to impose on them and give unasked comments and advice.

So, while I am enjoying and will stick around till it becomes unbearable, my enjoyment will increase manifold if they tone down the theatrics and also moderate the pace

Nopes i don't feel she is hyper,she is so realistic i totally can relate to her. She is bitter becos she has only seen betrayal all around her father & ex BF they crushed her confidence & broke her heart the emotional girl deep down she is broken thus it made her bitter. Priya has trust issues mainly due to her bitter past thus she thinks all men are like her father & ex-bf this is why her judgement on Ram too is negative. I totally can relate to her

@bold Perfectly put! 👏 That's exactly what the creatives are doing in this show. I wish they would make things subtle.. then this show can be so much better!

I think she's one of the fewest EK Leads who's hyperactive nature is becoming on her. If you see, all EK Leads, in general most ITV leads are super hyper - coz most leads start their journey on the wrong foot. ITV believes that's what works.

But somehow, Priya's bitterness and anger suits her. Sometimes, she reminds me a little (just a little) of Balbir from Chak De - who gets angry, apologises, gets defensive.

I feel the same... but may be because she has lost so many things in life... and she is constantly being bullied by her own father etc may be thats why shes turned like this...

We really need to watch what really happened with Priya in past.
