tbh i won’t have tried this show had it not been from balh franchise(as i loved initial episodes of both seasons) and they brought back NaSha. It was glad to see them back.

So far the first episode was decent. (yet to watch the 2nd) The diff in S2 and S3 is that RaYa are shown happier individuals this season, without any dark past so far. That positivity was good to watch. Another positive thing was that both have more supportive family this season unlike last season where they had a toxic and selfish family.

Though they showed positives which was refreshing to watch, I still feel S3’s first episode lacked something. Something seemed really missing but I don’t exactly know what it is. I kinda enjoyed RaYa’s conversation in the 2nd season more, here it seemed there could have been more.

Apart from this, I agree with all on the supporting cast. I could not connect to the supporting cast. I feel Aanchal would have been a good fit for Ram’s lady bestie this season too (I feel she could have nailed the business woman , who also is desperate to find her love character very well). None of the supporting casts really created an impact so far , let’s see what happens in the later episodes.

I guess EK made S3 to try to ‘fix’ the mistakes made in S2, or just another version of S2 with fans advices taken and all. The big plus point is that this season is finite which is the sole reason I am willing to give this show more time and interest.

My reaction was somewhat similar after the clips I saw of the first episode. Not quite there.

I will miss Adi and Shubhaavi. Adi the character and the actor, and Shubhaavi the actor, NOT the overdone evil Nandini.

I didn't see (or maybe notice) Ram's bestie, but I don't want Aanchal. My daughter was telling me there are people who even want Kanupriya back.😳😬🙄 Oh my, no offence to the actress, but no thanks.🤣

Good to see you, Random.

He looked low-key stunned at the sight of her. Like he had seen someone he'd missed a long time and couldn't believe it. I don't know if I'm reading more than I should into that look on his face, but because it's Nakuul and he's so good at nuances, I may be right. The criticism was his way of deflecting whatever his reaction was.

What was that almost Madonna look on Disha's face the moment they met? Much overused as this term is for her, that theraav she brings just matches NM's manic energy so well.

Interesting, wasn't Priya's hair this same way in the balh2 first interaction? Yellow suit too? I'm not handing out stars yet, though I am sure it's calculated. No praises for cvs unless they do a good job longterm.

Re the soggy cake, well, if someone lugs around a cake in a cardboard box in Bombay rains, it's going to be soggy alright. I couldn't believe he ate the whole cake! In my experience, it's not unusual for people who have high metabolism to act a bit condescending towards others, and to me his spiel sounded distracted, automatic. Some people do tend to go on in this annoying way at the least opportunity over anything that they're passionate about or know a lot about.

Don't know if I'll watch the episodes, but yes, from the clips, the second seems better. Such is the level of mistrust that I wondered if Ram's mum could turn out to be awfully awful later.

Having said all this, I'm not overly impressed by the Ram character (actually, by neither; Pensive's "manic pixie" description is terrorizing me). I just like the promos more than whatever I saw, and we know where those got us last time.

I still haven't watched either episode completely, so maybe more later.

I

I didnt really read him being "stunned" in his expressions. I found Ram to be quite snobbish and not impressive thus far.

his entire interaction with Priya was just him being unnecessarily snooty, rude and ungrateful

he shows up at the clinic of the one person kind enough to respond to his urgent dentist needed request on a NY eve and he responded by judging how small the clinic is, hovering around and being a nuisance to her doing her job, pacing around getting in her way, complaining about being hungry -eating her entire cake and then not even saying thank you and assuming that her random small talk waala comment is an invitation to drop his gyaan and he does so in a condescending way and then ultimately taunting her that she may ask for more money. even if she did, it wouldnt be wrong - he is a business man afterall. its simple supply-demand. so the way he was taunting and saying- ab toh tum triple payment logi was not needed. he needed to just shut up and pay what she asked for and leave. infact since he didnt thank her , he should have paid for the cake he ate too. she wasnt obliged to offer him any cake in her clinic! and then he goes on to further pass comments on her looks as well. jhalli is a comment to refer to someone who doesnt groom themselves well na...sometimes people say it fondly. but he wasnt doing that. and honestly Priya looked pretty well kempt for someone who is at her workplace.

also who eats an entire cake like that?! he didnt even consider that if shes baked it for her bf and shes not gonna get to celebrate with her love, the least he can do is leave a portion of it and take only one piece just to handle his hangriness and hypoglycemia.

atleast if he had given one sincere thank you in the whole interaction, I'd have not been so annoyed. but he didnt value the time and effort of Priya to help his jaan- his mother when she was suffering with severe toothache. and really nothing had happened in his day to make him annoyed. he was in a good mood, he is doing well, got a new deal, he was happy with his life- so its not even like he was directing something on Priya because he was pissed about something else.

If someone has gone out of the way to not just help when you really needed it but done so without making it seem like a big deal in such a sweet, kind, professional way- the least he can do is recognize that with a heartfelt thanks.

I hope he will do so when he meets her next. because I really do not like snobbish arrogant people.

episode 1 was him being OTT and hyper and epi 2 is him being a snob. so its a letdown.

Honestly even in BALH2 I loved Priya most even when she screwed up, but for Ram my feelings fluctuated between complete annoyance and liking his goofiness and charm. and even now BALH3 - Priya remains all ❤️ but Ram so far I am not too fond of except his concern for his mother.

Priya of BALH2 was broken but beautiful. some scenes she did made me just weep. I absolutely loved her drunk performances on Rams birthday and after they meet Vedika post marriage for dinner in her house and in holi sequence when she learns Vedika truth. the dialogues she got in those scenes were heartbreaking and so well written. when she told Ram mujhe aadat hai attention naa milne ki, reject hone ki- uff I just wanted to hug her. when she asks him - kya mein khadus hun and explains why she is so tough and how she saves for her little sister Sandy - again I just wanted to hug her. and the holi scene was top notch. and then there was a convo on terrace where she says I wish I could have got psychiatric help, I wouldnt be so bitter and how she regrets not taking Meera to Manali because paise nahi the. Many such moments have just stuck with me. She was SO good in them all.

I am glad she is happier this season overall. but heartbreak is coming soon :(

I think the universal sentiment is that expectations are high if its only a finite show. so if they mess up a finite series also like they did with BALH2 , then I really have no words for them. if its finite, they should have a clear vision and therefore no time for random drag and unnecessary MUs.

@bold I agree he actually looked stunned seeing Priya as if his soul recognized her &she's the one he had been missing all along it was the same expression he gave when he met her for the first time in S2 here again he was stunned seeing Priya &somewhere scared too about losing himself to her which is why immediately insisted his mom to go elsewhere with the excuse of clinic being small.

From whatever I have seen of S3 Ram knows people around him are for his money &he prefers it that way which is why no objection to kriti not wanting to be seen with him neither told his mom about kriti all shows he's not serious about her &is actually pretending to be materialistic in front of everyone but his mom who knows his vulnerable side.

I was surprised that he ate that soggy cake all by himself &he actually enjoyed it(from his expressions) commenting on weight &exercise was yet another defense mechanism to not let Priya know he enjoyed the cake &again another defense mechanism when he spoke about Priya being jhalli in front of his mom

This Ram uses shallowness &materialism as his defense mechanism to not let anyone see his vulnerable side just like how S2 Priya used her anger as defense mechanism

The real story will start from monday after IPL those 2 days were to just establish the characters from monday both are likely to be dumped by the sidies & will get married within 10 episodes

Hope I made sense

I can understand your annoyance, having experienced it with great regularity many, many times. You may be right, but I do think Ram was acting weird after being a bit shook. (I hope Ritika comes by--she was very good at interpreting Ram.)

Priya 1.0 was unique. She is and will probably always remain my favourite itv lead. I even found Priya 2.0 tolerable, disappointed and angry as I was at the change in her character and the imbalance in the briefs of the leads post leap. I agree with everything else you say.

That was my reading too, that he was actually scared and wanted to get away from whoever made him react that way.

I dislike the poor, lonely rich man trope and nothing much about the Ram character pleased me, but, to be fair, I haven't watched the full episodes. I'm actually banking on the chaiwala promo, which gives better vibes than I've got so far.

Actually the reason his character didn't made an impact yet is because of kriti(everyone I came across said he's not serious about her she's just like a checklist for him else would have informed his mom about it)nobody wanted him to have anyone other than Priya

To be fair even I have watched only bits &pieces of the episodes actual story will start from Monday they're likely to get married within 10 episodes itself as it's a finite show

He's just using materialism as a defense mechanism so that nobody can see his vulnerable side plus he's a start up owner(newly rich) not a business typhoon &people who are newly rich do behave this way atleast for a few months kriti dumping him will change things as they're set to get RaYa married Priya will know about yuvraj by monday &you never know Ram will get dumped too seems like a role reversal of S1 Priya after heartbreak will be like S1 Ram &Ram after getting dumped will be like S1 Priya

That chai promo actually got me hooked that's why I started rooting for S3 waiting for more such promos real story will start from monday with both getting dumped last week was only character introduction

Good to see you, Random.

except parents no supporting cast had that charm that the second season had.. Finally Supriya ji got a male lead's mother role ...Ram and Priya got what they didn't had in season 2 ....Father and mother....Both boyfriend ,girlfriend of leads 🤪

Besides the mother favouring the other daughter. She still cares for Priya. The sister too seems to care about Priya. Quite different from season1

I like to please people and they both infect me with their fun) Ram is a business teenager, and Priya is an adult girl, but fun and free)
