I felt that too to some extent. He seemed practical but very superficial. He was outright rude towards a dentist who came to help outside of her working hours…. He seems to be very much conscious of his monetary power and thinks he could buy off anything with it… I also don’t understand the logic of not pretty if they are not made up with layers of makeup & mascara and styled hair…. Usually most doctors don’t use makeup based on the intensity of their job. But I am sure they will show Ram’s character evolve as he finds reality of his closed ones. His mom looks genuine, though.
I dont think Ram of season 2 was so shallow despite being extravagant and using his money to get stuff done pronto. he genuinely appreciated the little things in life. but that Ram was too nice. he let people take advantage and ended up taking priya for granted.
I like how he still has preserved his bond with his mother. but he is otherwise too shallow.
Why does he expect a dentist to come with makeup to attend to her patient?
he was also really very impolite even just by his own CEO standards. even if he didnt appreciate her little clinic or didnt find her or her clinic sophisticated enough etc, the least he could have done is be grateful for getting timely help for his mother on a NY eve night when everyone else is shut and for even being kind enough to offer him cake. she really neednt have cared when he mentioned he was hungry, but she was sweet to offer him something to eat. and he reacts not by saying thank you but eating the full cake and not even leaving one piece for Priya and then calling it soggy. like c'mon. is that how he would behave in his high society?!
His mom and Shardul his friend both seem to be warning him about how hes losing touch with his roots and becoming shallow but he is kinda discarding their advice.
and honestly he didnt really seem to register it even when his mom pointed out Priya being so kind and helpful, professional.
but hopefully over time his mothers fondness for Priya will make him realize how shallow he has been in his outlook.
