Siddharth Shukla out and Vikas Sethi in | |
Babul Ka Aangan on Sony is going for its major twist ever. The story will see a major revamp with the lead actor Siddharth Shukla's character coming to an end and Vikas Sethi entering the show as the new male lead. A source from the production house informs, "Sony wants a change in the story. They want to get Swayam back to the show and focus the story on him and Aastha (Aastha Chaudhary). Swayam was earlier played by Rahil Azam. He was approached to re-enter the show but he couldn't as he is already committed to an upcoming show. Siddharth Shukla who plays the role of Shubh was asked to quit as he is not required in the newly changed story." But sources suggest that there is yet another reason for his exit. "Siddharth Shukla is said to be throwing tantrums on the sets and this is not accepted by anybody. The source adds, "Popularity and success of his debut show has gone into his head. He was being too demanding towards the producers. His demands such as hike in fees, air tickets for a personal holiday, car maintenance bills, etc were getting a bit too much to handle for the production house. Since the channel wanted a thriller track and return of the character Swayam, the production house decided to end the character Shubh," adds our source. In the episode that will air on Wednesday, Shubh will be seen attempting to kill Aastha. Swayam (Vikas Sethi) will make an entry in the scene when he will try to save her. Suspense will unfold when Swayam reveals that Shubh had reached the spot where he was lying injured after falling from a cliff. Shubh smashed his face with a rock to kill him. Assuming that he is dead, Shubh left from there and told every one that Swayam has died after falling down from the cliff. Swayam has returned to take revenge from Shubh after a plastic surgery and he kills Shubh." Producer Ratna Sinha says, "Yes, Siddharth Shukla is quitting and Vikas Sethi is entering the show. We have already started shooting with Vikas and he is really good at his job. There is nothing personal with Siddhath's character coming to an end. Babulā¦ had started with the story of a middle class girl but later we had a thriller track for sometime. The thriller track clicked well. In fact, it always works for us. So the channel once again wanted a thriller track and Swayam." Siddharth Shukla was unavailable for his comment.
