Lubna Salim, seen as Leela Bhabhi in Baa Bahu Baby (STAR Plus), will not be a part of the show's second season which will commence from August. But the actress insists her decision to leave is "nothing personal". She just wants a break and is waiting for something exciting to come her way.
"IT is nothing personal; I just didn't feel like continuing further. I felt the need to move on. I've given Leela Bhabhi four years and now, even if I agree to continue, I know that I won't be able to give my best to the character. Leela Bhabhi is very close to my heart and I can't fake it. Frankly speaking, I was very tired and I wanted to go on a break," says Lubna.
And though the actress will no longer be a part of BBB, she'll always cherish her memories of the show. She tells us, "We used to spend 14 hours a day on the sets and we were like a family. I made some very good friends there like Paresh, Suchita, Aatish, JD and Sarita Ben. We'd all have lunch together and I'll miss that. What I'll miss the most though is the gujju culture, which is a lovely culture. I'm definitely going to follow the second season regularly."
The actress wrapped up with the show in March, after which she did two short films and a few commercials. She says, "After BBB, I finished with my movies and few ads and ever since, I've been on my holiday only. I might go to Pune and Bangalore now, and then I'll get back to work."
Lubna was recently seen on Specials@10 on Sony and is looking forward to more challenging roles. She says, "I really can't believe that big people like Madhur Bhandarkar approached me for Specials@10. I've done Ashok Pandit with Aashka Goradia, which was based on child abuse. I am looking to do characters where I get to showcase my talents."
The second season of Baa Bahu Baby will launch in August and the show will be a daily telecast on STAR Plus. The timeslot of the show remains undecided.
