There use to be competition between kaunrav and bheem in childhood and bheem always win in competition so duryodhan start having hostility toward bheem so he said he will kill bheem and will put yudhistar and arjun in prison and without difficult he will become king

I agree w/ Persephone that it's likely that the accounts of the child Bhima bullying all 100 Kauravas was an exaggeration. I do think that since they were 100 and he and his brothers were just 5, he was extra aggressive against them just to ensure that they didn't harass Arjun, Nakul and Sahadev. But it is inconceivable that w/ just his mom there to take care of all 5 - having lost 2 parents, not 1, Bhima would go out of his way to constantly bully his 100 cousins, as though no one from the royal family would object. Heck, if Bheeshma would later in life join a war against him and his brothers, why would Bheeshma not discipline Bhima if he was in the wrong?

Not just that, we've seen Yudhisthir always be a restraining influence on his brothers. While BRC exaggerates it by showing him forbid Bhima from complaining after the poisoning attempt, it is perfectly probable that while Bhima got to crack down whenever the Kauravas looked like tormenting (then kid) Arjun or Nakul or Sahadev, it's inconceivable that Yudhisthir wouldn't have intervened if Bhima went out of his way to torment his cousins just for the fun of it

I do disagree w/ HearMeRoar about one thing: Kunti was very much a guest at Hastinapur after Pandu's death: she had zero clout w/ her nephews. And contrary to what they showed in ⭐️+MB, she moved to Indraprastha w/ her sons when they got their own kingdom

Actually duryodhana and his brother ( except step brother yuyutsu) were jealous of pandavas since from child hood as people of hastinapur love pandav more than kauravas so kauravas specially duryodhana hated that people loving pandavas more this is one main reason kauravas specially duryodhana has enimity toward pandavas

Second main reason was draupdi . Duryodhana was very attracted toward draupdi . As well jealous as with prosperity of Indra prasth. When duryodhana was in Indra prasth and stayed at maya palace during rajsuya yag

Actually duryodhana could not tolerate draupdi being wife of pandavas and prosperity of Indra prasth so this is another reason duryodhana has enimity toward pandavas

Source shree madh bhagwat

It is not because bheem use to torture kauravas that is why kauravas specially duryodhana has enimity toward pandavas . Pandavas were very popular among people of hastinapur right from childhood which arouses enimity in kauravas especially duryodhana toward pandavas

This is after Duryodhana poisoned Bheema

@Proteeti

This incident happened before they started their training from Kripa -

Meanwhile, the king (Dhritarashtra), beholding the Kuru princes passing their time in idleness and growing naughty, appointed Gautama as their preceptor and sent them unto him for instruction. Born among a clump of heath, Gautama was well-skilled in the Vedas and it was under him (also called Kripa) that the Kuru princes began to learn the use of arms.

One of Gandhari's 100 sons was named Karna (she even had one named Bhima). It's perfectly possible that this is one of the places where Vyasa threw in Gandhariputra Karna's name in order to force Ganesh to stop & ponder.

Violent bullying by children is still violence. No excuses.

What's more, the adults didn't intervene. Not only that, they later punished one side and let the other go scot free.

Bheeshma, Vidura et al were fool enough to believe the situation was conducive to sibling camaraderie as adults? Vidura I can understand to some extent as Vyasa later says he was Yudhishtira's father. What about Bheeshma? Where was he in all this?

When adults refuse to put a stop to such blatant violence, kids will find their own ways to cope. If physical assault was part of kshatriya games, then perhaps so was poisoning. I know it wasn't, but people really shouldn't attempt to justify the unjustifiable, be it Bheema's violence or Suyodhana's poisoning attempt.

The background details seem to suggest that not all was well b/w Dhritarashtra's side and Pandu's. So it's not like the Pandavas came to a welcoming home. If one then factors in that they are outnumbered 20:1, one can then understand Bhima's aggression: it's to keep his cousins from bullying his younger brothers ANS. Since Arjun wasn't a champion archer at the time and in any case arrows couldn't be used when there wasn't a war, brute physical strength was all that was available

Also, it looks like (reading Stri Parva) that Gandhari used to encourage her sons to be hostile towards the Pandavas: both Bhima and Krishna pointed that out to her when she confronted them in the battlefield and cursed Krishna. This is contrary to her depiction as a saint, particularly in BRC

I did consider this possibility but logic and text doesn't support this

Karna is mentioned in Bhima poisoning incident, so that's one

Krishna told Karna before his death that Dury acted under Karna's council and poisoned Bhima

When the Kuru king (Duryodhana), acting under thy counsels, treated Bhimasena in that way with the aid of snakes and poisoned food, whither had this virtue of thine then gone?

Logic - What are the chances of Dury's brother Karna helping him in his evil deeds till Rangbhoomi, to be replaced by a different Karna after it?

So why is Bheem poisoning mentioned as one of the crimes of Radheya Karna by SriKrishna.

Aside not even Dusshashan is mentioned here so was this Karna (the brother) more important than Dusshashan too

Exactly aside then why shall we believe that it was Radheya who went for Vimshi Yatra?? Couldn't it be the brother then??
