Rcently, the actors of Ardhangini refused to shoot with a poisonous snake for a special sequence. The production house had earlier called for a non-poisonous snake to avoid any accident on the sets. However, when the non-poisionous snake did not arrive on time, they hurriedly ask a snake charmer for a snake, which turned out to be poisonous.
Needless to say, all the actors got scared and refused to shoot with the poisonous snake. Eventually the production house had to ask for a non-poisonous one. A still from Ardhangini
Says Kinnary Mehta, producer of Ardhangini, "Just the way it's difficult to get dates from the actors, it was tough to get dates from a snake as well! At the eleventh hour, when we didn't get the snake we had called for, we had to get another one from a snake charmer. However, this one turned out to be a poisonous snake."
She adds, "A unit member found out about the poisonous snake and spread the word around. Naturally, the actors were scared and refused to shoot with the snake. As a result, the shooting got stalled."
When the show's creative head got to know about the poisonous snake, he fired the production people who were responsible for getting the dangerous snake. The actors waited till a non-poisonous snake came on Ardhangini's sets.
Commenting on the hazards of getting a poisonous snake on the sets, Kinnary says, "Of course, we realised that it was a huge a risk to let the actors shoot with a poisonous snake. That's why we immediately took care of the situation. Even though the shooting was delayed, nothing was more important than the safety of everybody present on Ardhangini's sets."
