Koi proof bhi nahi hai as everything happened in cash. So how is Gagan even being detained?

What the hell is that? And what is Nik doing all this time? Couldn't he bail out Gagan or prove his innocence by getting another bag of cash or something. He could just bring the bag and say it was lying somewhere and everything was a misunderstanding?
