Update for Monday, June 2, 2008
Opening scene: Anita and Indu are crossing the street and Indu shows her purchases to Manisha, who has been waiting for them across the street. Sameer sees them crossing and then he sees them talking to Manisha, whom he recognizes as his long lost sister. He quickly tries to cross the street, (shouldn't there be a song here - edhaiyum thanduven thangaikkaga ...?) but he obviously doesn't know Chennai streets cannot be crossed in a jiffy. By the time he gets across, they have left in a white car. He notes down the license plate number of the car.
Scene 2: ACD's mother is still in a coma, and Priya is sitting by her side, looking morose. Then we see ACD's father sitting beside his son's bedside, looking equally morose. ACD's mother gasps, Priya gasps, tries to waken her up "Athai, athai ..." (easy way to waken people who are in a coma - doctors, please note), then screams for the doctor from the room itself - doesn't know that she has to go outside and call to get attention - luckily, some nurse passing by does hear her and goes inside. Then she runs over to ACD's room, brings his dad over, and they ask the doctor what is happening. He tells them that she is critically ill and is being moved to the ICU, which is where they had kept her last week. When was she moved out? Dad is all praise for Priya and the attention she is giving to her MIL to be.
Scene 3: Shanthi with Priya and ACD's dad, wants to know what is going on, and they tell her. She tells them to be brave.
Scene 4: Charu in a car with PP. PP asks her if she thinks SKPD may have taken a shot at ACD, and she does not appear to be sure about it. She calls a doctor and asks him about ACD's condition. He tells her that there are two bullets, one in his shoulder and one in his neck, and he is in a critical condition. She wants to know if he should be moved elsewhere, or should doctors from "foreign" be brought in, and offers to pay whatever expenses are incurred. She then calls Priya and brings her up to date on ACD's condition. PP is all praise for her good heart.
Scene 5: JC, Commish, and a few other cops accompany the doctor into ACD's room and he is examined by the doctor. They come out, JC asks the doctor about ACD's condition, and he is told that the bullet in the neck is in a very dangerous position - if it moves two mm, it can touch the spinal cord and paralyze him, and if it moves one mm outward, they can take it out. Later, JC and Commish talk and JC tells the Commish that the bullet they extracted bears markings showing it is of Israeli origin, therefore he has been shot by someone from an outside state, maybe a terrorist, so Commish says that security must be tightened.
Scene 6: Srini and Vishnu are sitting in a police station and some guys are getting questioned and beaten by a policeman, who is asking them about SKPD's whereabouts. They see JC coming in, and Vishnu asks Srini to go and talk to him. Srini demurs, but then agrees to do so. In the meantime, JC asks the officer in charge if the adiyal said anything, and he says No. Srini walks up and greets JC, who asks the OIC who this man is. Srini says, Don't you remember, I am Srini, the industrialist, and I have been detained here without any warrant or probable cause, and I have not been allowed to call my lawyer. JC spouts some dialog about Srini being a bigger criminal than the guys in the cell and tells the OIC to take Srini and Vishnu and question them, because they definitely know more.
Scene 7: Sameer is waiting outside the RTO office, and someone comes out and he gives that guy the license plate number of the white car. The guy then comes out and gives him the info he needs (about the owner of the car).
Scene 8: Kandu is waiting in a police station, and he tells the officer that he has no idea of SKPD's whereabouts. He is just a businessman, a financier, and this enrages the officer, who says that he saw his own father suffer because he had borrowed money from Kandhu and couldn't repay the loan. He also says that there is a case of a whole family committing suicide because of Kandhu's hounding them to repay a loan and the case is still pending. Then Kandhu says that he has some info about SKPD, and reveals that SKPD was trying to kill Charu, and speculates that Charu may have kidnapped him, or even killed him altogether, and this last idea enrages the cop some more, who tells him to go inside the cell.
Scene 9: Priya in ACD's mom's room, (no more ICU?) and suddenly she hears a continuous sound, looks at the EKG monitor, sees that it has flatlined, tries to call "Athai, athai ...". No response, she pulls out the oxygen mask, and mom's head flops to one side. FREEZE ...
Note: There were a lot of scenes today and I hope I haven't left out anything important. Please feel free to add whatever I may have missed. Thanks.
