Update for Monday, Sept 29, 2008:

Opening scene: SKPD and Sameer's henchmen in the forest. SKPD is complaining about the quality of food ( andhandha velaikku he was expecting Saravana Bhavan coffee and snacks, apparently!) and Sameer tells him to stop his complaining. SKPD says that he had influence in the jail, but here he is cut off, and explains that he has no idea about Abi's whereabouts. Sameer tells him that she is now in Charu's house, and SKPD is puzzling over why she is in Charu's house - has she changed sides?

Naradar and his crony, Vishnu - Naradar is gloating over the fact that he has now succeeded in getting Abi inside Charu's house, and Charu has gone to Malaysia, leaving Abi in charge. Vishnu tells him to stop gloating and think about if this has benefited him, in any way. Seenu is thinking about this, and Vishnu tells him that now is the chance for him to get Abi to instal the two of them in Charu's house, and then when she returns from Malaysia, she will be deprived of all power by the three of them (the Axis of three).

Shanthi calls up Anitha and scolds her for keeping secrets. Anitha is puzzled, and Shanthi clarifies that she is talking about Arjun going to the detective and then getting into a fight with him, landing in the police station and then Karthik going to get him bailed out, and how Karthik and she have not been talking properly to each other since then. (It is amazing how they never say anything straight out, everything has to be done in a roundabout manner, after first mystifying the other parties and the viewers.) Anitha explains that she herself did not know about it until Karthik told her. And here I was, thinking that I saw the scene where Anitha calls Karthik when he was driving and told him about Arjun being in the police station. I must be mistaken, these serials have addled my brains. Anyway, it finally comes out about Narayanan telling Arjun about the visit by Shanthi to the detective and Shanthi puts the phone down.

Narayanan goes to Shanthi's house to pick up Indhu, and she tells him that Indhu has already gone by auto and will not be using his services henceforth. He is bewildered by the change of plans, and Shanthi accuses him of betrayal, even though she has treated him as a trusted family member. Then she clarifies (here we go, again!) and tells him that he told Arjun about her visiting the detective, but she had trusted him enough to take him inside to the office and make him wait for her inside, rather than outside. Poor Narayanan, he is the helpless target of her anger and he apologizes and leaves.

Bon, there is good news for you in the next scene - CR is talking of bringing your second favorite guy back! ACD calls up Inspector Siddiq (what happened to Gani?) and tells him that the old files are being dhoosi thattufied and they are going back to the first case, where it all began, that of Divya, his former fiancee. He asks Siddiq to watch Abi and Seenu, and find out about Kanduvetti Ramamurthy's whereabouts, since he has left town (is he in jail again?). He also tells Siddiq to consult Gani if he needs any further assistance.

Madhan and Rohini - Rohini is going to the store, and Madhan tells her he is worried about what may be going on in the Shanthi household. (Why don't you just mind your own business for a change?) He tells her that Karthik knows that Shanthi had gone to the detective agency about his affair, and he doesn't know what is happening to paavam Karthik (I guess paavam Karthik is not too paavam to be fathering a child before marriage and not so paavam that he wants to have Manisha and Rocky, and yet not disturb the present setup). Rohini agrees to go and find out (can't Madhan do his own finding out?).

The phone rings and Madhan answers, thinking it is Rohini, and Abi says that it is his ex-wife, and does he get calls only from Rohini? He is irritated, and then she tells him that there is work to be done, meeting the minister about the contract, etc., and he has been neglecting his work (I have been wondering why he is just sitting around the house, doing nothing other than reading the paper!) and for him to come in and attend to his work. He tells her that he knows how to do things, he doesn't need her to tell him, and he will explain to Charu when she returns and hangs up. Abi has this famous expression on her face ... Thodarum.

Update for Tuesday, Sept 30, 2008:

Opening scene: Rohini walks into Shanthi's house. Shanthi is looking listless, Rohini asks if she has finished her cooking, Shanthi says that Indhu eats in the cafetaria, she has no idea when Karthik will come and if he will eat, and she herself has lost all her appetite. Rohini chides her for sounding dispirited, she says that there is no happiness in the house.

Naradar and Jr. Naradar - Vishnu tells Srini about RK signing over the house in Rocky's name, with Manisha as guardian, and tells Srini to tell Abi about this, so that she can get to the bottom of this mystery, and Srini is sitting and wondering if this will land him in trouble.

Shanthi comes to Madhan's house, asks him where Rohini is , and did she say anything about their meeting earlier, when she had been a little abrupt with Rohini? She says that she did not engage the detective to spy on Karthik, but to find out who his girlfriend is, so that she can then get them together, and she can go back to being a vidhavai. Madhan is stunned.

Madhan, Karthik and Arjun - everyone beats about the bush, as always, and Karthik says that they told him not to say anything to Shanthi and that matters would resolve themselves (how?) but now Shanthi has engaged a detective. Arjun says that they have news, Shanthi engaged the detective so that she can find the girlfriend and get Karthik united with his girlfriend. Karthik says that though they have never touched each other, they have known each other, and he knows what is in Shanthi's mind, and she knows what is in his (oh, what a chaste love!) If she ever came to know that the girl in question is Manisha, she will give up her life, because she will know that they have all known this and hidden it from her. He says that Shanthi hates any form of deception, and this will break her heart.

Naradar and Abi - Naradar tells Abi that RK has willed the other house, not the Rajeswari charitable trust (Giri, your doubt has been settled, RK must have meant the house in which he was living prior to returning here), to this orphan kid called Rocky, and the guardian is someone called Manisha, and he wants Abi to probe into the matter and find out what is going on. Abi is thinking .... FREEZE
