Is it really required to send your child to a Reality Singing Show. Isnt it too much pressure on them to participate in a reality show as such? I am a mother and i do not understand if this is really required specially at the cost of their studies? I do not see the show as such and really hate seeing the trailers.......i understand that i might offend fans, i am really sorry for that.

I just intend to start an active and productive debate for childrens participation. I would like to hear from other people if this is right. We have heard of a child getting nervous breakdown and getting into coma in some other reality show.
I am a mother and would like to hear what others feel about childrens participation in Singing Reality Shows. OR AM i just another over protective mother??

Everything has positive as well as negative aspects I think that if children can recover the loss in studies than there is nothing bad in showing there talent

i know what your saying but nowdays even kids have to be competitive and go out there and prove themselves from a young age its not alot of pressure it jus depends on indivial alot of families dont have good financial stability so they depend on there kids to win shows like this so they can get money and get famous...some parents want there kids to show there talent ....yes the stress level does increase and sometimes it feels like the kids are in alot of pressure but thats wat the mummies are for in this show to help them out stabilize...i dont know where im going with this but hope all this makes sense :)

Yes dear you do make sense....and i did understand your point of view. I just wanted someone to tell me a wider option for this. I think i agree to what you are saying as well. Thanx
its just that i felt children will go nowhere from here. but i guess some families approve of children having a career very early.....so maybe it is good for them. My mind set is simply that children should study at this age and do whatever interests them only later in life. I guess i am too old fashioned.

I guess you are not old fashioned - we all want that way - carrer talks should start after 12th/10th standard when their bain is devleoped enough to decide about their future likings.
But this kind of approach is normally seen in finacillay stable families or families with educated background. I guess some parents doesn't or cann't think in this way because of some other familiy condition.
I guess every parents thing best of their no child no matter they are rich or poor. So leave this decision on individual parents.
Finally there is a saying in Hindi "Har kaam waqt par hi acha lagata hai."

some chiledren are creative at an early stage, not given an opening early can mar their confidence and hanidcap them later in their life
some can play tabla , some can sing , some can study well
it is important to be objective about our child and accept what he is best likely to be at.
