Sudhanshu Pandey and Sumeet Raghavan drive their directors up the wall with their pranks on the sets of Akela

Jokes can get very serious sometimes and that is what Sudhanshu Pandey aka Ranbir and Sumeet Raghavan aka Savio of Akela have realised. Rumors have it that Sudhanshu and Sumeet's constant pranks are responsible for driving away three directors and several actors who were tired of all the banter. An amused Sudhanshu says, "Sumeet and I like to play pranks and that's why we are great buddies. We do not spare anybody be it our directors, co-stars and even our spot boys. Most of the time, people don't know how to react to our jokes."
"Sometimes, we carry out these pranks with such seriousness that people get annoyed. In fact they refuse to believe that we don't mean to irk anyone and that we do it in good humour. Some of the actresses who played cameos in certain episodes used to get completely confused because of the way we treated them. Most of them also complained to the directors," adds Sudhanshu.
Sumeet explains, "Who wants to work in a place where everyone is serious? We want our co-stars to be happy and make an effort to make the environment a bit friendlier."
Recalling a specific prank, Sumeet adds, "We were shooting at Cinevistaa studio when a girl who was playing a cameo in Akela came on our set. We misguided the girl and she wandered in the studio for hours as it is a big place. She finally got to know of the right studio where we were shooting with the help of a spot boy. She was tired and we apologised later. Once we even pulled a prank on actress Firdaus Daadi, but she took our jokes sportingly."
The show has changed directors three timers already. But current director Kabir Sadanand says he is more than a match for the pranksters. "Yeah, the duo are big pranksters. But I can handle them. If they can play pranks, I can play bigger pranks!" he says.
